According to PhoneArena , a leak from Samsung's software update server is stirring up excitement in the tech community. It seems that Samsung has accidentally confirmed the existence of the Galaxy Z Flip FE, a cheaper version of its popular clamshell folding phone.
Accordingly, a user on the social network X (formerly Twitter) discovered a strange device model number 'SM-F761' on Samsung's OTA (Over-The-Air) server system. It is worth noting that there are currently no official Samsung phone models with this code.
Samsung may soon launch a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE model

The SM-F761 model number is a bit of a mystery. The letter 'F' is often used by Samsung for foldable devices, while the '7' suggests that this is a member of the Z Flip series. For example, the previous model numbers were SM-F731 (Galaxy Z Flip 5) and SM-F741 (Galaxy Z Flip 6).
Logically, the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have the model number SM-F751. So what is SM-F761? It is highly likely that this is the model number of the Galaxy Z Flip FE. It is unlikely that Samsung will develop software for a device next year (like the Z Flip 8) at this point.
Similar to the FE models of the Galaxy S series, the Z Flip FE is expected to be a more affordable version, with a few cuts to reduce production costs, but still ensuring good performance.
Notably, the Z Flip FE may not be cut down on the screen, as some rumors suggest that the device may use a 6.7-inch AMOLED LTPO folding screen, FullHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, similar to the Z Flip 6. Meanwhile, the processor of this phone model is still quite vague, as some sources say the device will use Samsung's Exynos 2500 chip, but many others say it is Exynos 2400e.
The arrival of the Z Flip FE could heat up the affordable foldable phone segment, which is currently dominated by the Motorola Razr (2024). This is a welcome sign for consumers, as foldable phones are gradually becoming more accessible.
Meanwhile, rival Apple has yet to show any signs of joining the race anytime soon.
