Mission Critical Communications (MCX), including MCPTT, is becoming a breakthrough standard in 3GPP, providing a reliable, efficient, and feature-rich communications solution for mission-critical scenarios such as public safety, security, transportation, and utility services.
Keysight Technologies now provides 3GPP EUTRA mission critical test solutions
Supported by the TCCA (The Critical Communications Association) through its promotion of open standards, MCX is transitioning from narrowband to wideband technology to enable new capabilities such as video calling. Conformance testing, currently not included in narrowband standards, is being applied to ensure compliance with standards and ensure the high reliability, performance, and interoperability required for critical communications systems.
To support MCX device manufacturers in testing compliance, Keysight has validated the first test case for MCPTT using the 3GPP-defined LTE MCPTT EUTRA test case and the Alea Mission Critical Services (MCx) user equipment (UE). The test case covers the key steps an MCPTT client needs to perform to be configured with the MCPTT server. These steps include LTE connectivity, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) registration, user authentication and key management via Internet Protocol Security (IPSec), identity management, user configuration data sharing including group management, and more.
Keysight's S8704A Protocol Conformance Toolset supports MCX protocol compliance testing requirements. The solution features a user-friendly interface for configuring devices, preparing test plans, executing tests, reviewing results, and generating reports. It is a must-have solution for all device acceptance tests including compliance testing and operator acceptance.
