This is the next version of PowerShot V10 launched in June 2023. Currently, PowerShot V1 is only released in Asia, there are currently no plans to open for sale in North America or Europe.
Accordingly, the Canon PowerShot V1 uses a 1.4-inch CMOS sensor with a resolution of 22.3 megapixels, twice the 1-inch sensor commonly found on other compact cameras. This sensor helps improve image quality, light sensitivity and the ability to shoot in low light conditions. The V1 has dimensions of 118 x 68 x 53 mm, equivalent to the EOS-M M100/M200 and G7x Mark II series, and is relatively heavy (426 g) due to the large battery with integrated heat sink and fan.
The camera is equipped with a lens with a focal length equivalent to 16mm - 50mm (on 35mm format) with an aperture of f/2.0 - 4.0 for more flexible vlogging, group selfies or quick shots. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II focusing system supports eye focusing, subject recognition and precise motion tracking.
PowerShot V1 is quite heavy due to the built-in fan and copper heatsink inside.

Canon’s decision to only distribute the PowerShot V1 in the Asian market may be due to differences in demand. Compact cameras are still popular in Asia, where many users prefer small devices that still deliver high-quality images and videos, while the Western market tends to use mirrorless cameras or high-end smartphones instead of dedicated compact models.
Although only sold in Asia, the PowerShot V1 is still an important step for Canon in developing a vlogging camera line, targeting content creators on social networks. The device is listed on Canon Japan's website with a list price of 988 USD (more than 25 million VND).
