Create a cohesive cultural space
Journalist Le My Ai Linh - Acting Director of the Center for Journalism Culture, Vietnam Journalists Association, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the National Press Festival 2024 shared that, unlike previous years, this year's Press Festival will be held in a larger space, which is the axis of Le Loi Street and Nguyen Hue Walking Street. The opening hours of the Press Festival will be longer, starting from 8am to 12pm every day to serve the public, the exhibition booths are always ready to light up to serve the visiting public.
The organizers also believe that this will be the best opportunity to listen to comments from the press-loving public... And therefore, the pressure before the G hour is extremely great for the units assigned to organize and coordinate.

Journalist Le My Ai Linh - Acting Director of the Center for Journalism Culture, Vietnam Journalists Association, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee said: “The 2024 National Press Festival with the theme “Vietnamese Press – Pioneering, Innovating for the Revolutionary Cause of the Party and People” bears the pioneering spirit of innovation of the Vietnamese press. This is not only a festival, a place to gather journalists from all over the country, the 2024 National Press Festival will highlight the modern professionalism of the press, demonstrating the large-scale nature of highly specialized professional activities.
With the efforts, creativity and innovation of the Organizing Committee, the exhibition activities as well as the special cultural and artistic programs have been implemented according to plan up to this point. With many years of experience in organizing major events, this National Press Festival was also planned early by the Vietnam Journalists Association, the units under the Association are rushing to complete the assigned tasks in the most scientific, meticulous and timely manner.
This year, the National Press Festival was held in March, when the weather in Ho Chi Minh City was hot and sunny, so the Organizing Committee designed additional roofs for the exhibition booths and a dome above to reduce the heat. In addition, the Organizing Committee arranged to open until 24 hours, longer than in previous years to welcome more visitors. The work up to this point has basically been completed, ready for the opening day of our Press Festival."
Close coordination
It can be said that to successfully hold a major event, close coordination with the locality where the event takes place is also required. Therefore, the coordination between the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee was agreed upon early on with specific plans and tasks. Although this was the first time the Press Conference was held in Ho Chi Minh City, the city's departments, districts and towns actively participated in supporting. The leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also determined that this was the first time the city had the opportunity to welcome many press agencies and journalist members from all regions to Ho Chi Minh City. It will be a special opportunity to promote a dynamic and creative city, with the introduction of OCOP products opening up trade opportunities, connecting supply and demand of goods with provinces and cities across the country.
Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Ngoc Hoi shared: “Although the implementation time was rushed, the Press Festival was held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City with the largest scale ever, however, the coordination work was carried out very closely. With the experience of organizing the Book Festival before, we also considered the best conditions, especially ensuring the safety and health of all participants in the hot weather in Ho Chi Minh City.
It is known that units under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee are also actively coordinating with travel companies to take this opportunity to bring hundreds of officials and reporters from all over the provinces and cities to visit key projects being implemented in the city. Organizing field trips will be an opportunity to promote a special urban area, the largest economic center of the country.
Always taking the public as the center, the Organizing Committee of the National Press Festival 2024 has calculated many solutions for logistics, ensuring traffic, security and order, environmental sanitation, fire prevention, electricity system, internet network... all of these tasks are scientifically and clearly linked, creating the most friendly and comfortable atmosphere for the public to come to the big festival.
It can be said that the close and harmonious coordination between units of the Vietnam Journalists Association and functional units of Ho Chi Minh City will create one of the most unique Press Festivals ever. An open cultural space for everyone to enjoy, listen, see, and exchange, thereby better understanding the increasingly progressive development of Vietnamese journalism.
Innovation in organizational work
During these days, to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere before the press festival, the Organizing Committee has coordinated with units to promote propaganda about the Press Festival on the media. The Organizing Committee of the Press Festival always determines that propaganda work must go one step ahead, so that every journalist can access information about the Press Festival in the clearest, most complete and accurate way.
In addition to actively producing and updating news articles and diversifying forms of propaganda, this year the organizing committee also put into use a number of websites, specialized pages, and columns with information about the Press Conference. With an eye-catching and scientific presentation, each journalist member needs information and documents to be easily accessible. The content of the discussion sessions at the National Press Forum is also regularly updated. In addition, the Organizing Committee also provides QR codes for members and journalists to easily access information on the Internet in a convenient and easy way.
The 2024 National Press Festival is imbued with the pioneering spirit of innovation of modern journalism. In that development, the public can also return to history, to the cultural heritage space reflecting the formation and development process of Vietnamese journalism over 99 years. The organization of this part is also in the final stages, promising to bring new and unique features for the public to enjoy.
Together with the determined efforts of the units under the Vietnam Journalists Association, the enthusiastic participation of the association at all levels and members nationwide has created an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement for every journalist.
