(CLO) On November 13, the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association held a meeting to agree on policies for a number of key activities on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.
At the meeting, comrade Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association affirmed that the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) is a glorious milestone for the press, affirming its indispensable position in social life for nearly a century. Under the leadership of the Party and the management of the State, the press system has constantly innovated and developed strongly, meeting the increasing information needs of society in the context of globalization and digitalization.

"The 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day is a national political and professional event of great significance to our country's revolutionary press. Therefore, the commemorative activities need to be organized in a methodical, elaborate, solemn and meaningful manner," comrade Le Quoc Minh emphasized.
Regarding the main activities towards the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, comrade Le Quoc Minh said that the first event is the National Press Festival scheduled to be held at Thang Long Imperial Citadel in mid-March 2025. This task is assigned to the Center for Press Culture to assist the Standing Committee of the Association in preparing related content. In particular, the focus is on the National Press Forum, assigned to the Journalists & Public Opinion Newspaper to assist the Standing Committee in preparing content. This year's Forum will invite many foreign experts and journalists and organize sessions in diverse and effective forms.

The second activity is to organize a working delegation to visit the army and people of Truong Sa island district with about 100 leaders of press agencies, scheduled for May 2025.
An initiative of the Central Propaganda Department on this anniversary is a trip to the birthplace of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press in Guangzhou, China, with the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinating to organize this program.
Comrade Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the South shared his opinion at the meeting.
The Vietnam Journalists Association assigned the Vietnam Press Museum to coordinate with relevant agencies and localities to organize scientific seminars and discussions to serve the protection and promotion of the values of Vietnam's press cultural heritage; and exhibition activities to display and introduce the achievements of 100 years of Vietnam's revolutionary press. The exhibition will display, in addition to common artifacts and images, specific features of each locality; the exhibition will travel through many provinces and cities across the three regions of the country.

In particular, the central event is the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, scheduled to be held on the morning of June 21, 2025. "This is the largest event, meticulously organized on an unprecedented scale, requiring relevant units to closely coordinate and plan from the reception of domestic and foreign delegates, documentary production, photo exhibitions to cultural programs that must truly create highlights and make a great impression on the public," Comrade Le Quoc Minh requested.
The 19th National Press Awards Ceremony will be held at My Dinh Sports Palace in the evening of the same day.
Comrade Truong Van Chuyen - Editor-in-Chief of Can Tho Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association said that he will organize activities to connect press agencies and journalists in the Southwest region.
Regarding some cultural, artistic and sports activities during the anniversary such as music festivals and annual sports tournaments, the Vietnam Journalists Association assigned the Center for Culture and Journalism to advise, promote and upgrade the activities.
At the meeting, leaders of Journalists Associations and press agencies agreed and committed to actively respond and participate in activities leading up to the anniversary, including investing human and financial resources to enrich activities in the region and locality.
The meeting also agreed that in 2025, the construction of a Memorial House for 511 martyr journalists at Da Pagoda, Nghe An, chaired by the Center for Journalism and Culture, will be carried out - creating another red address for the Vietnamese revolutionary press.
