The 23-year-old rapper's comments made many viewers think that he advocates dropping out of school to do what you love. Because Negav left school after two months of attending university in Ho Chi Minh City because he felt that studying was not suitable for him. According to the rapper, this caused tension in the relationship between him and his mother for a while. Recently, when the singer proved himself through his singing career, he received more support from his mother and family.

Many people think Negav's statement is inappropriate at a concert for young people. Audience member Thanh Nguyen commented: "This statement is not wrong if it is just a mother and son talking privately. On the morning of September 29, the rapper apologized, saying that it was a friendly confession to his mother, the way he usually talks every day. However, the rapper realized that he had made the statement out of context. "I do not encourage fans to skip school and take pride in that. In front of the media, I have affirmed that I am not an example of dropping out of school for everyone to follow," he said. The rapper hopes that everyone will forgive him for his speech incident, promising to control the way he speaks more. Previously, this rapper had caused outrage because of some humorous comments on social networks with 18+ content, which were considered inappropriate to talk to fans.

Negav's real name is Dang Thanh An, he started rapping since middle school. In 2018, he started pursuing music, in the group Gerdnang (a play on Nerdgang - Bookworms) with Hieu Thu Hai, Hurrykng. He has many hits such as "Sleeping alone" (2022, sung with Hieu Thu Hai), "Take care of me" (2023), "You make me want to become a Hanoian" (2023).

After the show "Anh trai say hi", the rapper became more famous, attracting a large number of fans. The MV "Minh anh thoi" - Negav's solo - recently attracted attention, topping the list of trending songs on YouTube Vietnam.
