The book "The Palm in God's Hand" is an insightful perspective of Dr. Nguyen Si Dung - an art collector, researcher, and politician who understands and loves art, writing about the life and creative career of painter Pham Luc. The book's title was inspired by former US Secretary of State John Kerry's comment about the talent of painter Pham Luc when he first saw the painting.

In this book, Dr. Nguyen Si Dung not only recounts Pham Luc's life from his childhood in Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh, through the war years, to when he became a famous painter, but also analyzes his artistic style and soul in a subtle and profound way. Along with that are the touching stories behind each painting, expressing his deep affection for the artist.

The 230-page book contains more than 160 paintings, the most beautiful and representative paintings in the massive collection of more than a thousand works by talented artist Pham Luc that Dr. Nguyen Si Dung owns.

With a close and sincere writing style, Dr. Nguyen Si Dung has helped readers better understand a talented artist and an emotional person like Pham Luc. The book is not only a document about art but also a story about life, love and faith in people and life. The book is published by Fine Arts Publishing House with 2 versions in Vietnamese and English.

At the book launch, art lovers also enjoyed the beautiful paintings of artist Pham Luc. The 70 works on display this time show that Pham Luc is not simply a painter, he is a storyteller of Vietnamese history through painting. From the image of soldiers in the great resistance war of the nation to the hard-working mother, the simple villagers, to everyday moments, all are depicted by him with emotional and realistic strokes.

The exhibition runs until April 24, 2025.
