Many key projects are back on track
On June 24, the Steering Committee for the implementation of key projects in Quang Ngai province for the period 2024-2025 held a meeting to discuss and provide solutions to remove existing problems and difficulties as well as promote compensation, site clearance and construction of key projects and works of the province.

Accordingly, in Quang Ngai, there are currently 8 key infrastructure projects, mainly traffic works and embankments to prevent river and sea erosion such as Hoang Sa - Doc Soi road project (VND 3,500 billion); Tra Khuc 3 bridge (VND 850 billion); Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road (over VND 2,000 billion); Thach Bich - Tinh Phong road (VND 750 billion) ...
At the meeting, the leaders of the Quang Ngai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board reported specifically on each project and pointed out the existing problems regarding the site and the organization of construction of the projects.
Up to now, contractors have returned to the construction sites to arrange machinery, mechanical equipment, and human resources to organize construction.
At the Hoang Sa = Doc Soi road project, construction sites have restarted, in which at the location of bridge No. 2 across Tra Bong river, passing through Binh Duong commune (Binh Son district), contractor Khang Nguyen has arranged a series of mechanical equipment to drill bored piles to construct bridge piers.
Construction of the Hoang Sa - Doc Soi road project has restarted, and the contractor is speeding up the progress.
At the same time, many super T beams precast by the contractor have been gathered at the foot of the construction site, preparing for the beam installation work when the bridge pier construction is completed.
At the Dung Quat – Sa Huynh coastal road project, the construction work has also been re-deployed by contractors. Most of the construction sites have been “starting” and the volume is increasing day by day.
A representative of the Quang Ngai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that contractors are speeding up construction work on most key traffic projects and other infrastructure projects.
At the same time, investors and localities are making efforts to resolve existing problems regarding land, material mines, etc. to ensure project progress as per investment policy and capital disbursement arrangements.
Flexible to remove obstacles
It is noted that most of the 8 key projects under the management of the Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee have encountered more or less difficulties in compensation and site clearance, of which the biggest problem at present is that the district-level localities have not issued annual land price lists, leading to difficulties in determining compensation prices.
However, land acquisition is a difficult problem for key projects.
At the meeting, leaders of local departments and branches proposed solutions and measures to overcome the problems. In particular, focusing on thoroughly resolving the problems at the construction sites of major projects such as bridges, culverts, access roads at both ends of the bridge, etc. to ensure the space for contractors to expand the construction site.
Standing Deputy Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee Dang Ngoc Huy, Head of the Steering Committee for key projects in Quang Ngai province, said that projects have been slow in various stages in recent times due to many reasons.
Currently, the situation has stabilized, the province has proposed many solutions, so investors, departments, and localities must make more efforts in implementing projects.
“To do so, we must be flexible in implementation, deploy simultaneously and have appropriate solutions for each task and each time frame.
The current projects have a huge workload, so the Provincial People's Committee is required to direct relevant agencies, units and localities to take decisive action to promptly remove obstacles to speed up the implementation of key projects of the province, ensuring compliance with the requirements and progress of the direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee", Mr. Huy directed.
Regarding the problem of compensation mechanism, Mr. Huy requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to urgently develop a plan to determine specific land prices for each project before July 31, 2024.
Quang Ngai province leaders requested that in addition to speeding up project progress, districts and towns must urgently complete land price determination.
At the same time, the Quang Ngai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is required to actively and proactively implement the tasks under its authority. Focus on coordinating with relevant departments, branches, units and localities to remove and resolve difficulties in the implementation process, speed up construction progress and disburse capital plans in accordance with regulations.
At the meeting, Deputy Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee Dang Ngoc Huy commended the efforts of units and localities in compensation and site clearance work for the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway, section passing through Quang Ngai province.
Mr. Huy requested that localities that have not completed compensation and site clearance work focus on implementation to ensure the progress of handing over 100% of the main project route to the project investor before June 30 in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction.
