GRDP per capita increased by 267 USD after 1 year
On the morning of December 9, the 13th Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, held its 29th session (regular year-end session) to review socio-economic development tasks, care for people's lives and develop plans and tasks for 2025.

The report of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province shows that in 2024, 25/25 socio-economic, defense and security targets of Quang Ngai will be achieved and exceed the plan, of which 9 targets will be exceeded.
The province's economy maintained growth at 4.07%, exceeding the set plan; budget revenue exceeded the central target (15.5%), estimated at VND 29,503 billion. Total social investment capital in 2024 reached VND 39,000 billion, an increase of 3.2% compared to 2023.
GRDP per capita is estimated at 4,460 USD/person. Compared to the same period in 2023, it increased by 267 USD.
For cultural and sports activities organized enthusiastically, people's need for entertainment and recreation increased, tourism stimulus activities were organized in many forms.
Foreign affairs, investment promotion and trade promotion activities are carried out regularly. Social security policies are given attention and focus.
Reviewing and simplifying administrative procedures continues to be strongly implemented; digital transformation is focused on in all sectors and fields. National defense and security are ensured, social order and safety are maintained.
Speaking at the opening of the session, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province Bui Thi Quynh Van said that from the beginning of 2024 until now, the province has focused on implementing tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in the spirit of the Government's governing theme of "Discipline, responsibility; proactiveness, timeliness; accelerating innovation; sustainable efficiency".
The Provincial People's Council has been active, proactive, and flexible in organizing 8 meetings (1 regular meeting and 7 thematic meetings) to review, discuss, and vote to pass 93 resolutions within its authority.
Quang Ngai's economy has grown steadily, with GRDP per capita reaching 4,460 USD.
"Since the beginning of the term, this is the year with the most thematic meetings. These include specific mechanisms and policies of the province, implementation of 3 national target programs, contents related to public investment, concretization of legal documents of higher levels assigning authority to the Provincial People's Council, removing difficulties and obstacles, clearing major bottlenecks for socio-economic development, etc.," said Ms. Van.
Focus on discussion to build 2025 mission
Appreciating the joint efforts and consensus of all voters and people of all ethnic groups in the province to achieve certain results in 2024. Ms. Van affirmed once again that the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of all levels, sectors, people and the business community have contributed their efforts and intelligence to the overall achievements of the province.
However, Ms. Van also said that it is necessary to identify the unachieved results, in each field there are still some shortcomings and limitations such as: economic growth rate, although exceeding the plan, is still low compared to the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress. The disbursement rate of public investment capital and target programs is lower than the plan...
At this session, delegates will review and evaluate the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan, ensuring national defense and security in 2024 and the tasks, plans and solutions in 2025; reports of the provincial People's Court, the provincial People's Procuracy, the provincial Civil Judgment Enforcement Department, etc.
Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council also organized direct questioning focusing on issues of concern to voters and people such as: construction investment management; ethnic groups, mountainous areas; food hygiene and safety.
The Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council meeting will discuss and propose an implementation plan for 2025.
According to the assessment of the Provincial People's Council, the question and answer session will partly help the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and localities to review their responsibilities, as well as propose feasible solutions to perform the functions and tasks of the branches and localities more effectively and practically.
In addition, the provincial People's Council meeting will consider and approve 12 resolutions on socio-economic development and other contents within its authority. According to the plan, this Quang Ngai provincial People's Council meeting will last from December 9-11.
Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van requested the Provincial People's Council delegates to carefully and thoroughly study the reports and submissions; focus on discussing and deeply analyzing the context and characteristics of the situation in 2024, clearly identifying the results and lessons achieved, the limitations, weaknesses, difficulties, obstacles that need to be resolved, and the challenges that need to be overcome; finding out the objective and subjective causes and drawing lessons of practical value.
On that basis, review and decide on general goals, basic and important targets and main tasks and solutions for socio-economic development, national defense and security in the coming year 2025.
