Quang Nam held a meeting on internal affairs, anti-corruption and waste prevention

On the morning of April 1, the Standing Committee of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee held a conference to review internal affairs, anti-corruption, waste, negativity and judicial reform in the first quarter of 2025. The conference assessed: since the beginning of the year, Party committees, Party organizations and authorities have focused on leading and directing the implementation of internal affairs, preventing corruption, waste, negativity and judicial reform, achieving quite comprehensive results. Cases and incidents have been strictly handled according to the provisions of law; inspection, examination, supervision, public reception and settlement of citizens' petitions have been focused on; the work of preventing corruption, waste and negativity has been well implemented.

Specifically, the whole province had 176 criminal cases (a decrease of 139 cases compared to the same period last year); investigated and discovered 157/176 cases; prosecuted 128 cases/303 defendants; prosecuted 87 cases/172 defendants for the crime of illegal drug trafficking and possession; The police discovered and caught red-handed 68 cases/306 subjects committing crimes and violating the law on gambling.

In the first quarter, the province had 176 criminal cases, killing 4 people and injuring 153 people. There were 5 fires causing property damage of more than 1,000 billion VND. In the quarter, the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Waste and Negativity monitored 14 corruption and negativity cases, of which 5 cases and 4 cases were assigned by the Central Steering Committee for direction and handling. The functional branches of the province and localities received over 2,500 petitions and complaints, of which more than 2,300 petitions were eligible for handling.
