(Dan Tri) - On the morning of December 2, Quang Nam province announced the resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of the province, period 2023-2025.
Previously, on October 24, Mr. To Van Tam, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Law Committee, announced Resolution No. 1241 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Quang Nam province in the 2023-2025 period.
According to the resolution, the entire natural area of more than 470 square kilometers and a population of more than 35,400 people of Nong Son district will be merged into Que Son district. After the merger, Que Son district will have a natural area of more than 729 square kilometers and a population of nearly 139,600 people.

In Que Son district, Son Vien commune with a natural area of over 28km2 and a population of nearly 3,200 people will be merged into Que Loc commune. After the merger, Que Loc commune will have a natural area of over 63km2 and a population of nearly 9,700 people.
Hiep Duc district will establish Que Tan commune by merging Hiep Thuan commune and Hiep Hoa commune, creating a new commune with a natural area of more than 91km2 and a population of 4,420 people.
In Thang Binh district, Binh Dinh commune will be established by merging Binh Dinh Bac commune and Binh Dinh Nam commune, with a natural area of over 33km2 and a population of 10,220 people. Binh Chanh commune will be merged into Binh Phu commune, creating a new commune with a natural area of nearly 44km2 and a population of over 9,700 people.
Duy Xuyen district will merge Duy Thu commune into Duy Tan commune, creating a new commune with a natural area of more than 21km2 and a population of nearly 11,700 people.
Tien Phuoc district will merge Tien Cam commune into Tien Son commune, creating a new commune with a natural area of 40km2 and a population of nearly 7,400 people.
Phu Ninh district will merge Tam Vinh commune into Phu Thinh town, creating a new town with a natural area of more than 20km2 and a population of nearly 11,000 people.
In Tam Ky city, Phuoc Hoa ward will be merged into An Xuan ward, creating a new ward with a natural area of 1.75km2 and a population of nearly 18,600 people.
After the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee takes effect, Quang Nam province will have 17 district-level administrative units, including 14 districts, one town and two cities; 233 commune-level administrative units, including 190 communes, 29 wards and 14 towns. Quang Nam province will reduce one district-level administrative unit and eight commune-level administrative units.
