Hon La Port is planned synchronously, including warehouse system, logistics area and modern technical works. With a strategic location in Hon La Bay, sheltered by Hon Co Island and Hon La Island, the port has an ideal natural depth, suitable for large tonnage ships.
In addition, the port is located near the coastal shipping route about 6 nautical miles, 360 nautical miles from the international shipping route in the East Sea, about 4km from National Highway 1A, and 150km from Cha Lo international border gate. This is a favorable condition for connecting trade of goods from Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and neighboring economic zones.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong affirmed that the project is an important milestone in the development of local seaport infrastructure, opening up opportunities for trade connection with major domestic and international economic centers. Hon La Port not only plays a role in transiting goods, but also has the ability to welcome international cruise ships, contributing to the development of sea tourism, promoting sustainable socio-economic development. When put into operation, the port will become an important driving force, contributing to the stronger development of Quang Binh in the future.
On this occasion, the leaders of Quang Binh province requested investors to fulfill their commitments, ensure quality, techniques and project progress, and closely coordinate with the government and related units to promptly resolve arising issues.
"Along with the whole country, Quang Binh aims for a minimum economic growth of 8% in 2025. With an investment scale of over 2,000 billion VND, this is a key project of great significance to the socio-economic development of Quang Binh province," said the Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee.
