On February 28, the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 7 held a meeting with delegates of retired senior military officers and those leaving work at the beginning of the Spring of Giap Thin 2024.
Attending and chairing the meeting were comrades: Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Commander of the Military Region; Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Military Region; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Command of Military Region 7 and more than 650 delegates of retired and retired senior military officers in the Military Region.
This is an annual event demonstrating the concern of the Party Committee, the Military Region Command, officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces for previous generations of officers; arousing patriotism and the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source".
At the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Commander of Military Region 7, said that in 2023, the Military Region Party Committee set 19 targets, achieved 18 targets, of which 14 targets were exceeded. The officers and soldiers were steadfast, steadfast, united, loved their comrades, respected the people, and fulfilled their duties and tasks well. Military Region 7 is also the first unit in the entire army to establish a sister army with the Eastern Army Group/Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, together with Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province to support the neighboring country with 1,300 tons of rice.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang shared that in 2024, with high determination and new confidence, the Military Region's armed forces will continue to unite, overcome difficulties, and excellently complete assigned political tasks. In addition, building a clean and strong Party organization will continue to enhance the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and the soldiers of Military Region 7 in the new situation; worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State, and people.

In 2023, Military Region 7 had outstanding activities such as: Starting the construction of the Military Region Command Headquarters and the Office of the Political Department; completing phase 1 of the border patrol road, and implementing phase 2 of more than 40km; building 58 residential areas adjacent to militia posts, stations, and border guard posts; building 2 kindergartens adjacent to border residential areas... In May 2023, the Military Region was the first unit in the entire army to organize a working delegation to visit the soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DK-1 platform.
