In recognition of his outstanding achievements in the resistance war against the US to save the country, on January 23, 2025, the President signed a decision to posthumously award the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to Major General Tran The Mon.
Major General Hoang The Thien, born on October 20, 1922, is from Le Xa village, Tien Son commune, Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province. He joined the revolutionary movement in 1940. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, he fought on the battlefields: Central Highlands, Southern Laos, Southern Vietnam; typical campaigns are: Dak To 1, Route 9 Southern Laos. These are invaluable assets, closely linked to the process of building, fighting and growing up of the 34th Corps and the working lives of the two generals. These artifacts will serve well in the work of educating the traditions of the current and future officers and soldiers of the 34th Corps.
