Nam Dam village, Quan Ba commune, is one of the first places in Quan Ba district to do community tourism, currently attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit and explore. Here, preserving and building tourism products with strong cultural identity and beauty is the key solution that the local tourism industry is aiming for to attract tourists.
Starting with only a few households, up to now, Nam Dam Village Community Cultural Tourism Village has 39 households providing homestay services that meet the standards to welcome guests with the capacity to serve 600 guests/day and night.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Ly Ta Chun, one of the households providing tourism services in Nam Dam, shared: Since 2019, realizing the tourism potential of the locality, he boldly renovated his family's traditional rammed earth house to become a homestay to welcome guests. During the tourism process, the family also provides herbal bath services and experiences of local culture.
Through the room sales and booking channels on digital platforms, the number of tourists using the family's services is relatively stable. In 2022, with the support and advice of the local government, Mr. Ly Ta Chun built 8 more bungalows to welcome tourists.
The Dao man expressed that since switching to tourism, his family's income has been quite stable. On average, each year, after deducting expenses, tourism revenue has brought in over 300,000,000 VND for the couple.
In Quan Ba commune in general, Nam Dam village in particular, visitors can participate in activities such as: Cap sac ceremony, crop praying ceremony, love singing, antiphonal singing, stick pushing, tug of war, bamboo dancing, campfire... Coming to Nam Dam village community cultural tourism village, visitors can rest in the Dao people's rammed earth house, learn about customs and practices, live with the people... enjoy unique dishes imbued with the Dao people's traditions, made from agricultural products harvested in the forest and streams such as sour bamboo shoots, bitter bamboo shoots, bitter soup, bamboo rice, wild banana flower salad, roasted wild boar, hill chicken, corn wine...
Besides the culinary experience, visitors can cook, harvest rice, fish, grow vegetables, sing with the locals or cycle around the village to admire the majestic, wild natural scenery of the mountains and forests...
In addition, when tourists come to Quan Ba district, they can also visit some beautiful and mysterious scenic spots and caves such as Lung Khuy Cave, Kho My Cave, and admire the beauty of the majestic undulating cat-ear stone mountains.
Every year, Quan Ba district also always pays attention to restoring and successfully organizing many traditional festivals, many large festivals are held such as: Cultural, sports and tourism festival of ethnic groups; Thanh Van commune culinary festival; Linen weaving festival; Thai An commune weaving festival; Mong ethnic group's Gau Tao festival; Dao ethnic group's Cap sac ceremony; Tay ethnic group's Long Tong festival...
With the attention of local authorities and the enthusiastic participation of the people, the festivals have created a buzz and gradually attracted tourists to attend.
In particular, many backpacking groups or content creators on social media platforms have also come to experience the festivals and have become channels to spread information more widely.
In addition, Quan Ba district also pays attention to vocational training and job creation for rural workers such as: Opening cooking and tourism classes for homestay households; opening English communication classes; instructing people to renovate mixed gardens associated with tourism development.
By the end of June 2024, Quan Ba district had 65 completed products participating in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program. Thereby, it not only helps promote local agricultural products but also has products as souvenirs to sell to tourists.
Sharing about the work that the Department of Culture and Information of Quan Ba district is doing, Mr. Lenh The Tuan, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Quan Ba district said: The Department will continue to do a good job of advising the District People's Committee on the work of preserving, maintaining and promoting traditional cultural features to become a typical tourism product to attract tourists.
At the same time, focus on building the Lung Hau village community tourism culture village, Thai An commune in the period of 2024-2028, building Nam Dam community tourism culture village to meet the criteria of a provincial-level tourist destination. Continue to invest, upgrade, expand and develop key tourist destinations of the district, striving to welcome 500,000 visitors in 2024.
