Ms. Cao Thi Hoa An, Deputy Secretary of Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee, on behalf of the Standing Committee of Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee, reported to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the Central working delegation on the results of implementing tasks in 2023 and the direction and tasks in 2024. Up to now, Phu Yen has 11/15 targets set by the Provincial Party Congress resolution for the 2020-2025 term that have been well implemented and are likely to achieve the plan.

GRDP growth rate ranked 10th in the country
In 2023, Phu Yen achieved and exceeded 16/17 key targets. Positive results were achieved in each field. Phu Yen's GRDP growth rate reached 9.16% (ranked 10th in the country, 3rd/14 in the Central region); the economic scale reached 57,207 billion VND, up 29.6% compared to 2020; average income per capita reached 65.2 million VND/person, up 13.4% over the same period. The material and spiritual life of the people was improved, creating a general excitement in the whole province.
The Prime Minister has approved the planning of Phu Yen province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; the project to adjust the general planning for the construction of the South Phu Yen Economic Zone to 2040. This is the legal basis and orientation for Phu Yen to attract strategic investors with dynamic projects to create breakthroughs in the coming time.
The activities of the National Assembly Delegation and the People's Council of Phu Yen province have many innovations, are practical and effective; promote the spirit of initiative in supervision activities towards innovation, improvement, and are increasingly methodical and professional.
In addition to the achieved results, Phu Yen province also frankly pointed out some difficulties and problems such as: the scale of the economy is still small; budget collection still has many difficulties, has not reached the target, the structure of revenue sources is not stable; has not attracted large-scale projects, creating motivation to promote economic development; compensation and site clearance work still has many problems...
Phu Yen province proposed that the Central Government consider continuing to add the road project from Ong Cop Temple to the north of An Hai Bridge (Tuy An District) with a length of about 3.8 km from the central budget supporting about 2,200 billion VND to the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 for investment completion; consider adding the list of routes connecting the expressway in Phu Yen province to the central Government's medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 for implementation. Phu Yen also proposed to allow the South Phu Yen Economic Zone to enjoy some preferential policies like the Van Phong Economic Zone (Khanh Hoa)...
Fix the bottleneck
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue acknowledged and commended the results and achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Yen province have achieved in the past time; at the same time, he requested the province to maintain growth momentum, overcome bottlenecks to achieve the targets for 2024 and the entire term.
In particular, regarding planning work, the National Assembly Chairman proposed planning the development of Phu Yen province within the framework of Resolution 26 of the Politburo on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the North Central and Central Coast regions to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Phu Yen provincial leaders reported to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue about Phu Yen's development orientation when inspecting the anti-erosion embankment project along the Xom Ro coast.
Phu Yen province needs to focus on the issue of implementing the planning. On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the Central Working Group directly inspected the Xom Ro coastal erosion protection embankment project. With a length of nearly 1 km and an investment capital of 150 billion VND, the project is expected to be completed in August this year. When put into operation, the project will protect the infrastructure of Hung Vuong Street and the area east of Tuy Hoa airport from the erosion of sea waves and high tides.
