Phu Quoc: Reviewing the responsibility of leaders and teachers regarding anti-educational clips

On March 27, news from the Office of the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang) said that the city's leaders had sent a document to the Department of Internal Affairs, the Department of Education and Training, and Duong Dong Kindergarten regarding the handling of the responsibility of the Board of Directors and teachers after many clips appeared recording anti-educational images at this school.

The teacher forced the student to sit down on the table and threatened him with a ruler.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City assigned the Department of Internal Affairs to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to guide the Principal of Duong Dong Kindergarten to review the responsibilities of teachers who violated the law. At the same time, advise the City People's Committee to implement the process of reviewing the responsibilities of the principal and vice principal in charge of the management and operation of the unit.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 22, on the social networking site Facebook in Phu Quoc, many clips appeared recording images of some teachers at a kindergarten using their hands and objects to continuously impact children during class.

Among them, there is a clip recording the image of a teacher making about 20 students sit with their arms crossed, their faces down on the table, forcing them to be quiet. When a child did not listen, the teacher used a ruler to hit the table repeatedly to threaten them, and at times she used her hand to hit the children's heads to make them sit still.

In another clip, the teacher had the children line up in a U-shape to play a game. When a child was not concentrating, the teacher came and patted the child on the shoulder and then used her hand to pinch the child's ear, almost lifting the child up.

There is a clip recording a female teacher holding an electric mosquito racket and hitting students on the head when they are not lining up properly.

The actions of the teachers in the clip were considered offensive and anti-educational, causing public outrage. The location of the incident in the clips was later identified as Duong Dong Kindergarten (Duong Dong Ward, Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province). The incidents occurred in February and March 2025.
