29 paintings of 'Vietnamese Women' by famous artists To Ngoc Van, Duong Bich Lien, Tran Van Can, Luong Xuan Nhi, Dinh Cuong, Luu Cong Nhan... have just been displayed on the occasion of October 20.

The exhibition is running until October 29 at Quang San Private Fine Arts Museum (189B/3 Nguyen Van Huong, Thao Dien, Thu Duc City), open from 9am - 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
Honoring the beauty of Vietnamese women through the ages
The public has the opportunity to enjoy works depicting the image of Vietnamese women spanning the history from 1940 - 2021, expressed in a variety of materials from oil paint, lacquer, sketches, wood carvings, silk, gouache, graphite, watercolor, bronze statues...
Among them, the most prominent paintings are: Girl with loose hair by To Ngoc Van , Village girl by Duong Bich Lien, Militia girl Le Thuy by Tran Van Can, Dao Anh painting by Dinh Cuong, Portrait of a girl by Luu Cong Nhan, Girl reading a book by Luong Xuan Nhi, Girl and lotus by Truong Thi Thinh, Girl of Hanoi by Cong Quoc Ha...

From portraits of specific characters to images of Vietnamese women in life, in art, in resistance, women of different ethnic groups... viewers have the opportunity to feel the perspective of famous artists on how Vietnamese women have changed over time.
"Personally, I have a wife and two children, so I understand and appreciate the sacrifices women make for their families and society. Through many generations, Vietnamese women have not only been a strong rear but also resilient soldiers.
"I want to honor the beauty and dedication of Vietnamese women through different periods, different settings, different ethnicities... to domestic and international audiences" - Mr. Nguyen Thieu Kien, director of Quang San Private Fine Arts Museum, shared.
Oil painting by artist Dinh Cuong of Dao Anh - the famous "muse" of musician Trinh Cong Son in 1991. The work was once hung by Dao Anh at home, then borrowed by artist Dinh Cuong for an exhibition and the museum had the chance to buy it. Artist Dinh Cuong (1939 - 2016) was a close friend of musician Trinh Cong Son.
Portrait "Girl with Loose Hair" drawn in charcoal by the famous painter To Ngoc Van (1906 - 1954). He was an excellent painter before 1945, honored in the quartet of early Vietnamese fine arts "first Tri, second Van, third Lan, fourth Can", and was also the first martyr of the fine arts world.
Watercolor painting "Le Thuy - Quang Binh Militia Girl" by artist Tran Van Can (1910 - 1994), one of the top four famous painters "first Tri, second Van, third Lan, fourth Can". The work was painted in 1969. The Le Thuy commune militia female artillery company consisted of 91 young women in their twenties but had many feats of shooting down American warships to protect the sea of Quang Binh. After peace, they returned to normal life and most of them are still alive today.
Oil painting "Portrait of a village girl" by artist Duong Bich Lien (1924 - 1988). He is one of the four great masters of Vietnamese painting "Nghiem - Lien - Sang - Phai", famous for his portraits of young women (Phai street, Lien girl).
Oil painting "Portrait of a young woman" by artist Luu Cong Nhan (1930 - 2007). He was one of the most outstanding students of the famous painter To Ngoc Van, had the most art exhibitions in Vietnam, and was especially famous for his nude paintings and stories about his bohemian lifestyle, daring to devote himself to art.
Oil painting on canvas "Girl Reading" by artist Luong Xuan Nhi (1914 - 2006). He was a professor, people's teacher, and famous painter for his portraits of young girls and landscapes, and simple daily life.
Gouache painting on paper "Em Dinh - Meo ethnic group" by artist Van Giao (1916 - 1996).
Watercolor painting "Embroidery Class" painted in 1958 by artist Tran Dong Luong (1925 - 1993).
Lacquer painting "Young Lady of Hanoi" by artist Cong Quoc Ha. Born in 1955, he is famous for his elegant female figures, and is part of a group of artists who have contributed to reviving traditional lacquer art with a modern look in the eyes of the international community.

In addition to the theme of "Vietnamese Women", the museum is currently displaying nearly 200 valuable works, divided into three different spaces following the history of Vietnamese painting. The works span from the first courses of the Indochina Fine Arts School to the resistance period, the Renovation period, the contemporary period and through each region of the North - Central - South.
