(Dan Tri) - The Agricultural Trade Promotion Center (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and the PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (Phu My) in collaboration with the Farmers' Association of Kien Giang and Dong Thap provinces organized the program "Agronomist Doctor".
This is a meaningful forum maintained by Phu My since 2016, helping farmers access scientific knowledge, improve production efficiency, and at the same time promote the goal of building a sustainable, modern and internationally integrated agriculture.
The recent programs have attracted the participation of over 1,000 delegates including leaders of local agriculture, agricultural extension centers, plant protection centers, farmers' associations, heads of cooperatives, farms, and good farmers.

The program's "Agronomist Doctor" advisory board is made up of leading experts and scientists, closely associated with farmers and localities in the field of agricultural production. They are Associate Professor, Dr. Chau Minh Khoi - Vice Principal of the School of Agriculture, Can Tho University - specializing in crops, soil and agrochemistry; Associate Professor, Dr. Le Thanh Toan - Lecturer of the Faculty of Plant Protection, School of Agriculture, Can Tho University - specializing in plant protection; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Khoi Nghia - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Soil Science - School of Agriculture, Can Tho University, specializing in soil, nutrition, crops; leaders of local professional management units, representatives of the leaders of the Department of Fisheries, Veterinary Medicine, etc.
In the programs, hundreds of questions related to cultivation, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, aquaculture, fertilizers, and plant protection were sent by farmers from the districts to experts and scientists through direct question-and-answer format. The program's advisory board answered all questions that farmers encountered during agricultural production.

In addition, experts also introduced to farmers about fertilizers, instructions on how to distinguish between real and fake fertilizers and pesticides, as well as providing advice and answers to questions related to trade promotion activities and market access for agricultural products. In addition, new policies related to agriculture - rural areas - farmers, OCOP products, organic, safe and sustainable production were also transferred to farmers by experts and managers.
"Agronomists" answer farmers' questions.
Mr. Le Phuoc Tanh, a farmer in Cao Lanh district, shared his feelings when participating in the program: "Using substandard fertilizers has caused me to lose both money and productivity. Thanks to participating in the program, I have learned how to recognize genuine products and ensure quality."
To prepare the program, the "Agronomists" carefully compiled documents that are suitable for the living habits and growth cycles of local crops and livestock. This is a valuable source of documents, useful for farmers in the process of planting, raising livestock... helping farmers apply scientific and technical advances in production, change labor methods, reduce input costs, and limit manual labor.
Evaluating the program, Mr. Le Van Chan - Deputy Head of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Dong Thap province said: "The agronomist program is very practical, especially for people in remote areas - where access to scientific knowledge is limited. Expanding this program will help farmers improve their lives and contribute to local economic development".
With the mission of "Sharing prosperity" with farmers for sustainable agriculture, Phu My always strives to bring good values to the agricultural community. The "Agronomist Doctor" program sponsored by Phu My is not only a simple technical support program but also an important bridge, helping Vietnamese farmers improve their knowledge, change their production thinking and thrive in the digital age.
These efforts have been contributing to building a sustainable, efficient and potential agriculture for the future. With the companionship of Phu My, Vietnamese farmers not only have more confidence in the future but also have more strength to overcome all challenges, reach new successes and bring about bumper crops.
