Recently, at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace (Hanoi), the first National Press Award ceremony on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Award) took place.
The ceremony was attended by President Vo Van Thuong; National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; National Assembly Standing Vice Chairman, Head of the Steering Committee of the Award Tran Thanh Man; Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang; Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen and many other Party and State leaders.
According to the organizers, after more than 4 months of launching, the first Dien Hong Award received more than 3,300 press entries from 171 domestic and international press agencies, 7 National Assembly Delegation Offices and People's Councils. The judging panel, consisting of prestigious, experienced journalists who worked actively, meticulously, impartially and objectively, selected 67 outstanding entries to award the first Dien Hong Award. A reporter from Binh Thuan Newspaper won an encouragement prize with a 3-part series: "The bridge between the Party's will and the people's heart" by author Thu Ha.
Speaking at the award ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that under the leadership of the Party, the 15th National Assembly has continued to make efforts to innovate and improve the quality of its activities towards increasing democracy, professionalism and the rule of law. The National Assembly has achieved many important and comprehensive results in terms of legislation, supreme supervision and decision-making on important national issues. To recognize and honor the important contributions of the country's press and the tireless efforts of professional and non-professional writers to the National Assembly and People's Councils, the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly has decided to organize an annual national press award for the National Assembly and People's Councils called the Dien Hong Award...
According to the National Assembly Chairman, the entries were carefully invested, rich in topics, sharp in content, massive in scale, diverse in style and modern in journalism. Among them, many journalistic works with exploration, breakthrough, novelty, creativity, and appeal were well received and highly appreciated by readers. The entries and awards today are the crystallization of the enthusiasm, sense of responsibility, love for the profession, faith, and sincere feelings of writers and photographers towards the people's representative agencies...
