(GLO)- In recent times, trade unions at all levels in Gia Lai have launched many patriotic emulation movements, focusing on the emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers". From this movement, many typical and advanced collectives and individuals have emerged.
According to Ms. Tran Le Nhung - President of the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL), the emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers" has aroused the potential and intelligence of workers, creating a combined strength for businesses to stabilize and develop. At the same time, it motivates cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to compete in production, be creative in work, and complete assigned tasks well.

In the 5 years (2018-2023), the whole province has 7 workers, civil servants and laborers awarded certificates of merit and Creative Labor Badges by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; 47 scientific topics have been recognized by all levels; more than 15,000 initiatives and technical improvements have been recognized by all levels, bringing value and profit of over 21 billion VND. Implementing the program "1 million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic" launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Provincial Labor Federation sets a target of union members, workers, civil servants and laborers in the province contributing 5,500 initiatives.
Of which, phase 1 (from December 2021 to the end of May 2022) has 2,000 initiatives; phase 2 (from June 2022 to September 2023) has 3,500 initiatives. As of May 15, 2023, the whole province had 5,234 participating initiatives, reaching 95% of the target. It is expected that by the end of June 2023, the whole province will complete 100% of the program.
Through emulation movements, many collectives and individuals have applied initiatives to their work, contributing to improving labor productivity. Typical examples are the initiatives "Improving the sugarcane juice heating steam distribution system" and "Cleaning falling film tubes with high-end water compressors" by Mr. Nguyen Tien Phong - Production shift supervisor, Sugar Workshop (An Khe Sugar Factory).
“My two initiatives have been highly appreciated by leaders and colleagues. From 2021 to now, the initiatives applied to production have contributed to saving the Factory more than 200 million VND/year. Recently, my two initiatives were proposed by the Provincial Federation of Labor to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to be considered for the “Nguyen Duc Canh Award” in 2023,” Mr. Phong shared.

At Bien Ho Tea Joint Stock Company, when applied in practice, the 3 initiatives of Mr. Le Xuan Dinh - Deputy Head of Planning and Technical Department have brought about practical results. Mr. Dinh said: "The initiative "Renovating the tea withering tank system with an area of 300 m2" helps reduce labor, increase labor productivity by 15-20%, the products are more beautiful in appearance, and the quality is 5% higher than manual withering. The initiative "Renovating the tea stir-frying machine system, saving fuel" supports increasing quality, ensuring stir-frying and cooling techniques to improve quality compared to the previous old machine by 15-20%. For the initiative "Improving the tea drying machine engine to save electricity to produce over 60 kW/ton of semi-finished tea" has supported the tea conveyor system from the green tea receiving - tea rolling drying team to the sorting team to reduce labor. My 3 initiatives have been applied to production since 2019, contributing to reducing labor and working time while still ensuring labor productivity and product quality."
Mr. Phan Dinh Bong - Director of Doan Ket Farm (Chu Prong Rubber One Member Co., Ltd.) has an initiative to improve the method of spraying medicine to treat Botryo diplodia disease on commercial rubber plantations. He said: Botryo diplodia disease seriously affects the tree trunk, growth, and latex yield. When the disease is severe, the tree does not produce latex, the tree dries up, leading to the tree dying. Therefore, the Company has implemented a method of spraying medicine to prevent the disease, but each time spraying medicine requires 2 people: the person in front sprays one side, the person behind sprays the other side.
“Seeing that this spraying method is labor-intensive and wasteful of pesticides, I researched and made a nozzle. At first, I made a nozzle with 4 nozzles but it could not spray the entire tree, so I made another nozzle and sprayed the entire tree. The initiative was applied in 2020. Compared to the traditional spraying method, the initiative helps reduce the amount of pesticides by 20% and the labor cost by 35-40% because only 1 person is needed to spray the pesticides,” said Mr. Bong.
Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Tran Le Nhung added: “To improve the quality and effectiveness of emulation movements, especially the emulation movement “Good workers, creative workers”, trade unions at all levels need to continue to innovate the methods of directing and organizing emulation movements with the motto of focusing on the grassroots. At the same time, closely link the content of emulation movements of the trade union organization with emulation movements launched by sectors and localities to create motivation for union members and workers to have initiatives to apply to work”.
