Domestic coffee price list updated at 4:30 a.m. on February 21, 2025 |
According to the chart (Barchart), Arabica coffee prices recorded data on February 18 showing that Arabica inventories monitored by ICE fell 8% in just one day, to a 9-month low of 758,514 bags, from 824,783 bags the day before. However, data released later showed that Arabica inventories recovered and increased 2.1% to 774,553 bags on February 19.
For Robusta, ICE-monitored inventories hit a nearly five-month high of 4,603 lots on Jan. 31, but then fell to a nearly two-month low of 4,297 lots on Feb. 18. Robusta inventories have since recovered slightly to 4,355 lots, however.
One factor supporting coffee prices is that a greater proportion of Brazil’s crop has been sold than in previous years. Brazilian producers had sold 88% of their 2024/25 crop as of February 11, up from 79% a year earlier and the five-year average of 82%, according to Safras & Mercado. However, pre-sales of 2025/26 crop have been slow, reaching just 13%, well below the four-year average of 22%. This suggests a lack of new supply and a reluctance among farmers to sell.
