Lam Dong Province's Department of Industry and Trade has just announced that coffee still holds the position as the agricultural product with the largest export value and is the product contributing the second largest export value among the province's key products.
2024 is predicted to be a year full of surprises for the coffee industry. In April, coffee prices set a record of more than $4,100 across all terms, then fluctuated continuously and set many new peaks. Notably, Robusta coffee prices have surpassed Arabica coffee prices many times, a phenomenon that has never happened before. The increase in coffee prices has helped increase export value despite a decrease in output.
In 2024, businesses in Lam Dong directly exported 67,509 tons of green coffee, reaching a value of up to 226.16 million USD. Compared to 2023, export output decreased by 25.02%, but export value increased by 10.33%.
Lam Dong coffee has a very diverse market, exported to all continents, of which EU countries are the main markets. Switzerland has been at the top of the coffee export table from Lam Dong for many years, with a large gap compared to other markets.
Atlantic Vietnam Commodities Company Limited (ACOM) is currently the largest direct coffee exporter from Lam Dong. In addition, many other companies such as Intimex Bao Loc Joint Stock Company, Golden Coffee Joint Stock Company, Ho Phuong Company Limited, and Nhu Tung Company Limited also contribute significantly to the coffee export value of Lam Dong province.
