(Dan Tri) - Halloween on Hang Ma Street this year is more special, in addition to devil toys, there are also many masks of famous people, football players like Ronaldo, Messi and quite attractive to customers.
Hang Ma Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) becomes bustling in late October with thousands of items for sale for the Halloween festival. Halloween is a holiday originating from the West, meaning a day to pray for the souls of the dead, taking place on the night of October 31 every year. On this day, parishioners often dress up as ghosts and go from village to village to ask for crumbs of bread, symbolizing food to nourish the soul. According to Dan Tri reporters, during the last 2 days of the weekend, many people, mainly young people, came to Hang Ma Street to have fun and shop with all kinds of colorful, diverse costumes. Traditional Halloween decorations such as pumpkins, capes, masks... are displayed everywhere.
This year, Hang Ma Street has seen many spooky and horrifying models that make viewers "shudder" when approaching. The horrifying items are sold for prices ranging from a few hundred thousand dong to tens of millions of dong. A large amount of goods are sold to cafes, bars, pubs, hotels, large restaurants, etc. to serve the decoration needs. The owner of a business on Hang Ma Street said that right after the Mid-Autumn Festival ended, the store quickly imported and displayed Halloween items. This year's business was a bit slower than previous years, but items with horror and spooky designs were still quite popular. Hang Ma Street with a variety of goods and colors is also a familiar place for young people to visit not only to shop but also to take photos and check-in every Halloween season. Que Lam (Long Bien District) has a habit of regularly visiting Hang Ma Street on Halloween every year with her mother and younger brother, sharing: "Although there are still a few days left until the main festival, the atmosphere here is very bustling, the decorative items this year are beautiful and colorful." Ms. Xuan and her daughter had the opportunity to come from Cao Bang to Hanoi to play, so they took the opportunity to join in the Halloween atmosphere on Hang Ma Street. She said that this was the first time her child had enjoyed this special atmosphere, so she was very happy and excited, although still a bit scared of the horror toys there. It is not difficult to see people and children in costumes walking on the street. Ms. Hang (Ba Dinh district) and her child Gia Han went to Hang Ma street in the costume of her child's favorite Harry Potter character, saying: "I also decorate Halloween at school so I really support my child's costume. My child spends more than 20 minutes on makeup and costumes to go out." Many foreign tourists also joined in the atmosphere on Hang Ma Street. "It's wonderful to see the decorations here, they look so lively. I will definitely come back to Vietnam," a German female tourist shared. A new and popular item for Halloween this year that many business owners are selling are masks with images of famous football players and actors such as Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappe, Leonardo DiCaprio... The price of a mask is about 30,000 VND. A young man happily wears a mask with the image of football superstar Ronaldo while walking on Hang Ma street.
