On the morning of January 17, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front To Thi Bich Chau visited and presented gifts to 200 cancer patients at Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital (branch 2) on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025.

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Ms. To Thi Bich Chau said that in recent years, the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front have implemented many practical activities to encourage and care for the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and patients to overcome their circumstances, believe in life, rise out of poverty and create a better future.

Specifically, agencies, organizations, business communities, and philanthropists at home and abroad have also implemented many meaningful activities, rich in humanity and imbued with love for compatriots.

According to Vice President To Thi Bich Chau, in the first days of the new year 2025, Party and State leaders, leaders of central and local agencies are organizing activities to visit and wish a happy new year to Party committees, authorities and people in all localities across the country. However, there are still many families and individuals facing difficulties, poor people, including cancer patients who need to receive support and encouragement in spirit and material.

At the visit and gift-giving ceremony, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau sent New Year greetings and warm regards to the leaders, all staff, doctors and employees of the City Oncology Hospital, especially cancer patients being treated at the hospital.

“I wish all the unfortunate uncles, brothers, sisters, children and grandchildren who are being treated at the hospital good health, steadfastness, determination to fight the disease, to recover quickly so that they can soon return to live with their families, and join hands to build our homeland and Vietnam to become increasingly prosperous,” Vice President To Thi Bich Chau expressed.

Many patients feel heavy-hearted every time Tet comes and Spring comes.

Also at the visit and gift-giving ceremony for cancer patients, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau requested that all hospital staff continue to uphold the spirit of responsibility, determination, dynamism, innovation and creativity. “The hospital must truly consider each patient as its own relative. Consider the patient's pain as its own pain. Consider the hardships of the patient's family as the hardships of its own family to try to maximize experience, skills, conscience and professional ethics in providing the best care and treatment for cancer patients; worthy of Uncle Ho's teaching "A good doctor is like a mother", Vice President To Thi Bich Chau advised.

The gifts are not only of material value but also extremely precious spiritual gifts for patients.

Sharing here, BSCKII. Vo Hong Minh Phuoc, Deputy Director of the hospital said that not only taking care of health but also bringing attention and mental care to patients. Besides treating the disease, the mental factor plays an extremely important role in the recovery process.

“We always try to create a friendly, close environment, where each patient not only feels the dedication in treatment but also understands and shares in the most difficult times,” said Dr. Phuoc.

Currently, the Oncology Hospital receives 4,500 - 4,700 patients every day. The highest number of patients coming to the hospital for examination are breast cancer, followed by thyroid cancer.
