Mr. Cu Seo Van in Nam Ky village, Vinh Yen commune, Bao Yen district, is over 80 this year. Due to old age, poor health, and economic difficulties, many years ago his family had to live in a temporary house. Implementing the policy of eliminating dilapidated houses for poor households, Vinh Yen commune mobilized social resources to support his family to buy roofing sheets, sand, and cement. Households in the village and relatives supported bamboo trees, wooden boards, and labor days to upgrade the house.
Mr. Cu Seo Chinh in Nam Ky village said: "Before, Mr. Van's house often leaked when it rained, but now that he has built a new house, he is no longer afraid of rain and wind."
With a new, sturdy house, Mr. Cu Seo Van no longer has to worry about rain and wind like before.
As a family with revolutionary contributions, Mr. Hoang Cao Hung's family in Nam Muoc village, Vinh Yen commune faced many difficulties, their house was degraded and damaged. Recently, with 60 million VND in support from the State, along with savings and help from the government and villagers, Mr. Hung's family decided to rebuild a new house. "With support from the government at all levels and help from fellow villagers to build a house, my family is very happy and grateful," Mr. Hung shared.
Previously, through screening, Vinh Yen commune had 71 houses that did not meet the "3 hard" requirements and needed support to upgrade, repair and renew. In addition to supporting people to build houses, the Party Committee and government also actively mobilized organizations, individuals and philanthropists to support material and labor days to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Up to now, the locality has basically eliminated temporary and dilapidated houses, ensuring the "3 hard" requirements, helping people settle down and stabilize their lives.
Many households in Vinh Yen commune, Bao Yen district received support to rebuild their houses, helping to stabilize their lives.
Mr. Hoang Phuong Dong, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Yen Commune, Bao Yen District, added: "People agree to support the removal of houses that do not meet the "3 hard" requirements. To implement this, propaganda work is very important, a shared responsibility of the whole society. Through propaganda and mobilization, almost every family supports it."
In Bao Yen district, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is being promoted in communes and towns with many creative methods, including support from the State and mobilization of social resources from the community. New, solid houses not only bring safety and comfort, but also motivate poor households to escape poverty and build a prosperous life.
