Immediately after being admitted to the hospital, under the direction of specialist 2 Le Hoang Van Hai - Head of Orthopedic Trauma Department, the surgical team including specialist 2 Tieu Hieu and specialist 1 Nguyen Duy Tai performed the surgery.
On March 29, specialist doctor Nguyen Duy Tai said: " This is a difficult surgery. The patient had a fracture of the tibial plateau, the joint surface was displaced a lot. In addition, the patient came late, 3 weeks after the fracture, there was a lot of fibrous tissue in the joint, the fracture had begun to form a cal, making the broken pieces stick together. We had to chisel out the cal to be able to lift the broken piece and the tibial plateau joint surface. After lifting the broken piece and the joint surface, the bone had a large defect, requiring autologous bone grafting to fill the defect."
Postoperatively, patients received intensive care with multimodal pain control measures.

During the surgery, the team applied many supportive measures such as using prophylactic antibiotics, spinal anesthesia combined with sedation, and blood pressure control. In particular, the doctors applied minimally invasive surgical techniques to minimize tissue damage.
Postoperatively, patients received intensive care with multimodal pain management, prioritizing non-opioid analgesics, and early catheter and drain removal to minimize the risk of infection. Patients also received early oral nutrition and exercise instruction to prevent thrombosis.
Currently, the patient's health is recovering well, is being instructed in physical therapy to restore motor function and is expected to be discharged in the next 2-3 days.
