In recent years, climate change and extreme weather events have occurred frequently and irregularly, especially floods, droughts, water shortages, and saltwater intrusion, which have greatly affected agricultural production.
Pests also arise on a large scale, affecting the growth, productivity, quality of agricultural products and increasing production costs. Invasive alien plants such as the mimosa tree are also dangerous, capable of encroaching and reducing the cultivated area.
In addition, according to estimates from professional agencies, every year in Quang Tri province, about 8-12 tons of used chemical fertilizer and pesticide packaging are released into the environment. This is a source of hazardous plastic waste, affecting the living environment.
