Localities in Ha Tinh are focusing on mobilizing farmers to stay in the fields, speeding up the progress of sowing spring peanuts, striving to complete 100% of the area this February.
In the 2024 spring crop, Ha Tinh aims to produce 7,599 hectares of peanuts. Up to this point, the whole province has completed sowing 1,590 hectares of spring peanuts, accounting for 20.9% of the total crop area. This year, the peanut varieties that Ha Tinh farmers continue to prioritize are: L14, V79, L29 and local peanut varieties such as: chrysanthemum peanuts, lotus peanuts, fat peanuts...
Localities with large peanut production areas include: Nghi Xuan 1,315 hectares, Loc Ha 924 hectares, Cam Xuyen 857 hectares, Duc Tho 848 hectares, Huong Khe 800 hectares...
The whole province has planted more than 20% of spring peanut area.
Taking advantage of the soil having enough moisture and warm sunny weather, localities are focusing on directing farmers to proactively prepare the land for spring peanut planting; striving to complete 100% of the production area in February. At the same time, specialized sectors continue to propagate and mobilize farmers to focus on applying the technique of covering peanuts with nylon to create the best growing and developing environment for crops.
At the same time, proactively investigate, detect and forecast pests right from the beginning of the season, especially disease groups such as: peanut wilt at the seedling stage, black mold and white mold that damage peanuts to have timely prevention solutions.
It is known that in 2024, localities strive to produce 206,000 tons of peanuts, with an expected yield of over 27.11 quintals/ha.
