Striving to complete the project of 1,000 houses to welcome Party congresses at all levels

(CTTĐTBP) - On the morning of March 31, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ton Ngoc Hanh chaired the 4th meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Binh Phuoc province to listen to progress reports and remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing the program.

With the strong determination of the political system in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, by March 26, the whole province had started construction and repair of 448/765 houses, reaching over 58.6%, of which 342/625 houses were for poor and near-poor households and 106/140 houses were for people with meritorious services. 3 localities that have completed the program are Dong Xoai city, Phuoc Long town and Hon Quan district.

After reviewing the actual needs, the Provincial People's Committee decided to increase support from 80 million VND to 100 million VND/newly built house, 40 million VND to 50 million VND/repaired house for people with meritorious services; housing for poor and near-poor households after review is reduced by 5 houses, housing for people with meritorious services is reduced by 26 houses. Difficulties regarding residential land in bauxite and forest land planning areas have been basically resolved, localities are speeding up progress, striving to complete the program before April 30, 2025.

Emphasizing the profound humanitarian significance of the program, Provincial Party Secretary Ton Ngoc Hanh requested members of the Steering Committee and localities to uphold the spirit of responsibility, flexibility, and proactive implementation of the program in accordance with the actual situation. In addition to ensuring quality and progress, localities need to call on and mobilize donors to participate in additional responses, creating conditions for beneficiaries to stabilize their lives in the long term. At the same time, continue to review the number of houses built for many years and seriously degraded, in conjunction with prioritizing funding for the next phase of the program, aiming to complete the construction of 1,000 houses to welcome Party congresses at all levels.
