Striving to bring Cam Xuyen to meet the standards of advanced NTM district by the end of 2024

Right from the beginning of the year, the entire political system in Cam Xuyen district (Ha Tinh) needs to develop a plan framework and specific tasks to focus on bringing the district to advanced NTM standards by the end of 2024.

On the morning of January 27, the Steering Committee of the National Target Program on building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, sustainable poverty reduction and one commune one product in Cam Xuyen district held a conference to summarize the work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024.

In 2023, with many suitable methods and approaches, Cam Xuyen district has achieved many results in the movement to build new rural areas. The whole district has 2 more communes recognized as meeting model new rural standards, 2 communes recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards, 21/21 communes maintain meeting new rural standards according to the criteria set for the period 2022 - 2025. Up to now, the whole district has 3 communes meeting model new rural standards, 6 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 21 communes meeting new rural standards.

The movement to build model new rural residential areas and model gardens continues to receive attention. In 2023, 15 more residential areas and 75 model gardens were recognized as meeting standards. To date, the district has 153 villages and residential groups meeting the standards of model new rural residential areas and 1,140 model gardens meeting the standards.

The One Commune One Product program has been upgraded, with 11 more products meeting the 3-star OCOP standard. Up to now, the whole district has 33 products meeting the 3-star OCOP standard. The poverty reduction program has been directed and implemented by authorities at all levels from the district to the grassroots. By the end of 2023, the poverty rate in the whole district will be 2.8%, down 1.59% compared to 2022.

In 2023, the whole district mobilized a total capital of more than 3,881 billion VND to implement the National Target Program on New Rural Construction; of which, the people contributed more than 2,928 billion VND.

In 2024, Cam Xuyen will focus on building to meet the standards of an advanced NTM district by the end of the year with specific goals such as: directing the construction of 6 more communes to meet the standards of an advanced NTM district, striving to have at least 50% of communes meeting the standards of an advanced NTM district by the end of the year; building Cam Xuyen town to meet the standards of a civilized urban area before September 30, 2024, building Thien Cam town to meet the standards of a civilized urban area before November 30, 2024; consolidating and maintaining the standards of 9/9 criteria of an advanced NTM district; focusing on directing the basic standards of 9/9 criteria of an advanced NTM district...

At the conference, delegates focused on analyzing difficulties and obstacles and proposing solutions to implement the task of building new rural areas in the coming time. Some delegates suggested: all levels should allocate cement support resources early so that communes can proactively implement the task; mobilize civil servants to strengthen the task of building new rural areas; increase resources for Cam Xuyen town to complete the traffic criteria...

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of Cam Xuyen District Party Committee Nguyen Van Thanh requested that, in order to achieve the goal of building the district to meet advanced NTM standards by the end of 2024, from now on, the Party committees, authorities and the entire political system need to raise their determination to carry out the tasks.

Accordingly, departments, branches and localities need to quantify the targets; review the planning framework right from the beginning of the year; launch regular and continuous movements; assign comrades in the steering committee to be responsible for each criterion; district-level departments and branches regularly review, advise and direct and urge; at the end of the month, communes and towns must review the results and determine the next month's tasks in detail; promote the mobilization of resources to build infrastructure...

Leaders of departments, branches and Cam Xuyen district awarded certificates of recognition for Cam Thanh commune meeting model NTM standards, and Cam Quan commune meeting advanced NTM standards in 2023.

Cam Xuyen district awarded certificates of merit to 14 collectives and 18 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement of building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and sustainable poverty reduction in the area.
