On December 15, in Phu Tho, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP) inaugurated the project to renovate the Ha Giap Commune Martyrs' Cemetery and awarded funds to renovate the Ha Giap Commune Primary and Secondary School.

Attending the inauguration ceremony, on Petrovietnam's side, there were Mr. Pham Tuan Anh - Member of the Board of Directors of the Group; Mr. Nguyen Thien Bao - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVEP; Mr. Hoang Xuan Duong - Deputy General Director of PVEP; Mr. Le Duc Tue - Director of the Domestic Oil and Gas Exploration and Exploitation Branch.
On the side of the leaders of Ha Giap commune, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, in charge of the Party Committee of the commune; Mr. Hoang Quang Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune; Mr. Nguyen Khanh Quang - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune.

Reporting on the construction and renovation of the martyrs' cemetery, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Quang - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giap commune said that the martyrs' cemetery was built in 1997 with an area of 2,160.4 m² with 78 martyrs' graves and 1 Vietnamese Heroic Mother's grave. When it was built, the cemetery was not designed synchronously, there was no drainage system, the planning area was not reasonable, plus the items after many years of construction had seriously degraded such as: Memorial, memorial stele system, cemetery grounds, ... cracked, peeling foundation, some fences collapsed. The People's Committee of the commune has developed a plan to invest in the construction and renovation of the cemetery, but due to limited funding, it has not been able to be implemented. By the third quarter of 2024, PVEP had sponsored 850 million VND for the commune to renovate the cemetery. To date, the project has been completed and put into use; is the wish of the leaders of the Party Committee, government, martyrs' families in particular and of all cadres and people of Ha Giap commune in general.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thien Bao - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVEP said that in recent years, PVEP has always maintained its role as a pillar corporation under Petrovietnam with important contributions to the overall development of the oil and gas industry as well as contributing to ensuring energy security, national defense and security and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. In addition to production and business activities, PVEP always focuses on social security activities, gratitude work, community building and development.
It is known that Ha Giap commune is a locality with many difficulties but has a heroic tradition and passionate patriotism. 78 heroic martyrs, the sons of the homeland who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the eternal existence of the nation, are forever shining examples to educate the tradition of patriotism, indomitable spirit, and loyalty for the younger generation. Therefore, Petrovietnam and PVEP consider the restoration of the martyrs' cemetery to be of utmost importance, both to show the gratitude of the next generation for the great contributions of the heroic martyrs in the cause of national liberation, and to demonstrate the tradition and morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree", and the affection of oil and gas workers. The completed project has satisfied the wishes of the local Party Committee, government and people and will also be the eternal resting place for the souls of the heroic martyrs.
On this occasion, PVEP also awarded 2.9 billion VND to support the repair of facilities at Ha Giap Primary and Secondary School.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Hoang Quang Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee expressed his sincere thanks for the special and meaningful affection and attention of Petrovietnam and PVEP. This is a great source of encouragement for the commune leaders and teachers and students of the two primary and secondary schools in the commune. Mr. Hoang Quang Huy expressed his hope that in the coming time, Ha Giap commune will continue to receive the attention and support of Petrovietnam and PVEP so that the commune will have more conditions, determination, and strive to become an advanced new rural commune.
