On the morning of January 31, 2025 (the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year), comrade Le Quang Trung - Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) visited the production site at Tan Vu Port Branch (Hai Phong Port), visited, encouraged and wished a Happy New Year to the staff, workers and employees of Hai Phong Port.
In the warm atmosphere of early spring, Deputy General Director Le Quang Trung sent his best New Year wishes to all officers and employees working at the port. Deputy General Director Le Quang Trung highly appreciated the responsible working spirit, regardless of holidays, of the Hai Phong Port staff, who contributed to ensuring each ship arrived and departed safely and efficiently.
Reporting to Deputy General Director Le Quang Trung and Director of Tan Vu Port Branch, Le Minh Hai said that during the 9-day holiday, Hai Phong Port's ports will receive 30 ships, including 20 container ships.
To ensure the productivity of loading, unloading and releasing ships quickly, the Port has required the departments to proactively monitor and closely follow the ship schedule to make specific production plans, arrange equipment and production forces, and arrange reasonable wharfs. At the same time, the exploitation process, regulations to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety, security and order, and port security throughout the port are also required to be strictly implemented.
Notably, during Tet, to support and accompany customers during the holiday, Hai Phong Port has a policy of exempting storage and warehousing for containers with goods imported from ships at Chua Ve Port and Tan Vu Port for 09 days, from January 25 to February 2.
Deputy General Director Le Quang Trung acknowledged and commended the efforts of the leadership, staff, and employees of Hai Phong Port in general and Tan Vu Port Branch in particular for achieving impressive results in production and business activities in 2024. In particular, he congratulated Tan Vu Port for reaching the milestone of 1 million TEU of cargo throughput for the fourth consecutive time. This achievement not only affirms its position as a strategic gateway port in the northern region's cargo supply chain but also clearly demonstrates the sustainable development and continuous efforts of the leadership, staff, and employees of Tan Vu Port.
In addition, comrade Le Quang Trung expressed his hope that Tan Vu Port will continue to maintain its growth momentum, expand its market share and soon complete the dredging project to increase the channel depth to 8.5m in the first quarter of 2025. This seaport capacity improvement will help Hai Phong Port accommodate larger ships, increase competitiveness and create a strong breakthrough in 2025 - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam National Shipping Lines (April 29, 1995 - April 29, 2025).
