"Don't be afraid! I am safe, healthy and no one was hurt. Thank God! But, there are people in this world who would do anything to stop us. I will never stop fighting for you. I will never surrender," Trump sent a message to supporters on a fundraising website after the second assassination attempt on September 15. "I will always love you for supporting me. Through our unity, we will Make America Great Again," Trump stressed. In an email to campaign donors, Trump also affirmed that he would never "surrender". "My determination has been strengthened after another attempt on my life! I will never slow down. I will never give up. I will never surrender," Trump said. The former president affirmed that he was "still healthy and safe" after the assassination attempt. "There were gunshots in my neighborhood, but before the rumors get out of hand, I want you to hear this first: I am safe and healthy. Nothing will bring me down. I will never give up. I will always love you for supporting me," Trump wrote in a letter to supporters. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham also affirmed that Trump's spirits were still very good after the security incident in Florida. According to Reuters , a shooting was reported to have occurred at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida on September 15 while Trump was there. Trump's campaign said that he was evacuated in time and was safe after the incident that was believed to be a second assassination attempt on him. A local police leader said that a Secret Service agent discovered the barrel of a gun protruding from a fence at the Trump International Golf Club, about 300-500 meters from where Trump was standing. Police then opened fire and arrested the suspect. The suspect's identity and motive have not yet been confirmed. However, some sources said the suspect was a white man in his 60s. Immediately after receiving the news, US Vice President Kamala Harris, a Democratic presidential candidate, condemned the attack. "There is no place for violence in America. I have learned about the shooting near former President Trump in Florida. I am very happy that he is safe," Harris commented on social media. US House Speaker Mike Johnson met with Mr. Trump immediately after the second assassination attempt. "No leader in American history has endured so many attacks and remained so strong and resilient. He is unstoppable," the US official commented. Mr. Trump was once assassinated at a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13 when a gunman fired at him on the roof. As Trump spoke, he consulted a large chart showing immigration data. He tilted his head slightly as he looked at the chart, causing the bullet to fly past his ear, slightly injuring him. Trump has admitted that he almost lost his life and that turning his head helped him narrowly escape death. After the assassination attempt on Trump, US Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned after admitting failure to prevent the incident. To date, much of the criticism has been directed at the Secret Service for failing to ensure safety at the event site, as the gunman was only 120-140 meters from where Trump spoke.
