(CLO) Chinese President Xi Jinping has stressed the need for the military to "fight corruption" and focus on improving its ability to "fight and win," state media reported on Thursday.
Since coming to power more than a decade ago, Xi Jinping has led a sweeping anti-corruption campaign across the government system, including the military.

The anti-corruption drive in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has recently intensified. Last month, Miao Hua, a senior official, became the latest in a series of officials to be removed from their posts in just over a year.
Speaking to the PLA's Information Support Force on Wednesday, Xi Jinping demanded that the military "strictly enforce discipline" and "fight corruption to ensure the force is absolutely loyal, clean and trustworthy".
The Information Support Force, established in April this year, assumes the role of reforming the management of the PLA's cyber, information, logistics and space operations.
Mr. Tap emphasized that this force needs to "focus on combat capability and winning."
Mr. Xi's speech took place in the context of increasingly tense regional hotspots, especially related to Taiwan.
Along with the anti-corruption campaign, China continues to maintain pressure to achieve its strategic goals on both domestic and international fronts.
