On the morning of May 29, in My Tho city, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang province held the 11th Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tien Giang province for the 2024-2029 term.
Attending the Congress were Ms. To Thi Bich Chau, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Van Danh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee and more than 300 delegates from the city, town, district fronts... under the province.
Speaking at the opening of the congress, Mr. Nguyen Chi Trung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang province, said that the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tien Giang province, term 2024-2029, is an important political event for the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the people of Tien Giang province. Continuing to affirm the position, role and noble mission of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the cause of building the great national unity bloc. The congress aims to summarize and evaluate the activities of the 2019-2024 term, at the same time unify the direction, tasks and action program for the 2024-2029 term; democratically elect the 11th Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, term 2024-2029 and send delegates to attend the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Next were reports from leaders of Tien Giang province on the emulation movement to "eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" for poor households in the area. A presentation from the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on the management of Buddhist affairs and guiding followers to live a good life and a good religion, or a presentation from Tan Phu Dong district on the leadership role in building and promoting the great national unity bloc, building the Fatherland Front system in the district... Although time was limited, 12 presentations were presented at the congress, with 8 presentations on May 28, 2024.
Speaking at the Congress, Ms. To Thi Bich Chau, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said: “Up to now, the whole country has basically completed organizing congresses at the commune and district levels. At the provincial level, two localities, Can Tho City and Bac Lieu, have successfully organized provincial congresses of the Front. Tien Giang Province is the third locality in the country to organize a provincial congress. This proves that we have been active, proactive, and determined to complete the organization of congresses at all levels."
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Ms. To Thi Bich Chau reviewed some outstanding activities of the Tien Giang Provincial Fatherland Front at all levels in recent times, such as actively implementing the Resolution of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; proactively grasping the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Party with many major orientations for the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have actively and proactively implemented many activities of profound political and social significance towards the celebration of major holidays such as the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country. In the major campaigns launched by the Party, the State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, they have been carried out more and more effectively with many outstanding achievements such as implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".
Ms. To Thi Bich Chau also suggested some additional contents for the Congress to study and discuss. Firstly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province needs to continue to closely follow and realize the Party's guiding viewpoints to build and implement action programs. Especially the viewpoints, goals, tasks and solutions stipulated in Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW of the 13th Party Central Committee on "Continuing to promote the tradition and strength of great national unity, building our country to be more and more prosperous and happy".
The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has issued a Plan to disseminate and implement Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW throughout the Front system. It is expected to be organized in mid-June 2024 in a combination of direct and online forms to connecting points nationwide. Therefore, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tien Giang province needs to focus on drastic implementation, ensuring the effectiveness of the 07 groups of solutions stipulated in this Resolution in accordance with the practical situation in the locality. Second, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels of Tien Giang province needs to promote the traditions, experiences, and strengths of member organizations, members, and each cadre working for the Front to effectively carry out propaganda and mobilization work, effectively implement the quality and progress of the campaigns and emulation movements launched by the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front. Particularly focus on implementing 02 new contents: Responding to and implementing the emulation movement of the whole country joining hands to "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in 2025 launched by the Prime Minister. Third, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province needs to concretize Directive No. 18-CT/TW dated October 26, 2022 of the Secretariat on promoting the role, improving the quality and effectiveness of supervision and social criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the Action Program for the term 2024 - 2029 and actively and resolutely implement it in conjunction with the practical situation in Tien Giang province. Participate more strongly and more deeply in giving opinions to build the Party and the State; actively participate in preventing and combating corruption and negativity; strive to care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the People. Fourthly, to make the Front's work increasingly effective and of high quality, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province needs to pay attention to investing in training and fostering for the Front's staff with many appropriate forms of training such as sending them to attend classes, self-training and fostering, colleagues sharing knowledge and experience with each other, and seniors guiding the next generation of staff.
According to Ms. To Thi Bich Chau, this Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tien Giang province has a very important task of consulting to elect the Committee, Standing Committee, Chairman, and Vice Chairmen of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang province, term XI, 2024 - 2029. The preparation process for the Congress has been fully and strictly implemented in accordance with the procedures and regulations.
"I request that delegates attending the Congress promote the spirit of democracy and consensus to negotiate and elect representatives with capacity, prestige, enthusiasm, and high responsibility for the country, Tien Giang province, and the work of the Front, contributing to enhancing the image and strength of great solidarity, especially improving the quality and effectiveness of the work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the province," Vice Chairwoman To Thi Bich Chau emphasized.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Trung holds the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang province.
The congress also consulted to elect 82 members with the number, structure and composition clearly demonstrating the representativeness, exemplary nature, and the ability to undertake and carry out the important responsibilities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province in the new term and delegates to attend the 10th Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front. At the meeting held on May 29, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang province, term XI, 2024-2029, democratically consulted to elect a Standing Committee of 8 members. Of which, Mr. Nguyen Chi Trung, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holds the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang province and 3 Vice Chairmen are Mr. Huynh Van Hai, Tran Van Thi and Pham Minh Chau.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Chi Trung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang province, term XI, 2024-2029, said that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang province, term XI, 2024-2029, pledged to raise awareness and sense of responsibility to promote the role of each member, constantly consolidate and build the great national unity bloc. Strengthen political and ideological consensus in the committee, member organizations and people of all walks of life to effectively carry out campaigns and patriotic emulation movements. In particular, well implement the action program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the term 2024-2029, contributing to the completion of the targets and tasks of economic, social development, national defense and security of the province.
