(CLO) On February 15, at Soc Trang Newspaper, the Soc Trang Newspaper Journalists Association held the 11th Congress of members, term 2025 - 2027.
The Association always carries out well the activities and movements of the Association, promoting the core role of members in implementing the activities.
Specifically, every year, there are from 35 to 40 works of members participating in the Provincial Press Award, over 30 works participating in the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, 10 to 18 works participating in the Project to support high-quality press works, nearly 30 works participating in the Press Award Writing about the Mekong Delta, over 20 works participating in the Contest to Protect the Party's Ideological Foundation.

At the same time, the Secretariat of the Association advised the leaders of Soc Trang Newspaper to organize professional activities for the unit's staff, editors and reporters; sent nearly 40 members to participate in professional training courses. Actively coordinated with the grassroots trade union to organize cultural and sports activities.
During the 2023 - 2025 term, the Branch Secretariat proposed to reward 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in the association's work; admitted 4 new members, bringing the total number of members in the branch to 24 members.
The Congress focused on discussing and determining the direction and activities for the 2025-2027 term, setting out a number of targets such as: striving for 100% of members to study and fully grasp the directives, resolutions, guidelines, policies and laws of the Party, the State and the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association; ensuring that 100% of cadres and reporters who meet the standards according to the Charter of the Vietnam Journalists Association are considered and admitted to the association; 100% of members do not violate the Code of Journalism Ethics; mobilizing 100% of members who are reporters to fully participate in the press awards launched by the Vietnam Journalists Association of the province and sectors; building at least 1 model of studying and following Uncle Ho...
The Congress elected the Secretariat of the Soc Trang Newspaper Journalists Association, term XI, 2025 - 2027, consisting of 3 comrades. Comrade Giang Chi Bao was elected to hold the position of Secretary of the Soc Trang Newspaper Journalists Association, term 2025 - 2027.
On this occasion, the Soc Trang Provincial Journalists Association awarded the title of Excellent Association Collective at the grassroots level in 2024 to the Soc Trang Newspaper Journalists Association; awarded the title of Excellent Journalist Member at the grassroots level in 2024 to 6 individuals; and awarded certificates of merit to 5 individuals who actively participated in the At Ty Spring Press Exhibition 2025.
