Video of female student singing and playing music with her grandmother receives a 'shower' of compliments from viewers
The main character in the video is female student Nguyen Le Hien Tran, from Can Tho, a full-time vocal music student at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, and her grandmother, singer Le Hang. The image of the two grandmother and granddaughter sitting and playing music attracted many views and compliments.
In videos posted on TikTok, Ms. Le Hang plays the guitar, while her granddaughter Hien Tran plays the piano and comfortably shows off her singing voice.
Female student loves "red music"
The videos posted all received a "shower" of compliments from viewers: "It's so touching to hear you sing this genre of music, it's wonderful!", "The two of you performed it simply, it sounded great", "The genre of music has left an impression on you in the hearts of the audience", "Please always keep and be passionate about traditional music, my daughter, I wish you and your baby good health"...
Previously, Hien Tran and singer Le Hang performed the song "Saigon Self-Defense Woman Song" which attracted nearly 1.8 million views on TikTok.
Hien Tran said that in 2017, after participating in a music program, she met singer Le Hang and was adopted by her grandmother.
"She originally lived in Can Tho, but with her passion for music, she decided to open a music class and went to Ho Chi Minh City to teach 2 days a week. Taking advantage of the time in Ho Chi Minh City, the two of them met and filmed music clips about red music.
I have a knack for this genre of music, when I sing I feel happy and very comfortable. In one video I even got my grandmother to sing with me," Tran happily shared.
Besides studying, Hien Tran also performs to improve her skills and does charity work to spread positive things to everyone.
"I am lucky to study in an artistic environment. Teachers, family and friends always support me to complete my studies in the best way possible. I perform on days that do not conflict with my school schedule. When I sing at schools from primary to high school with the aim of spreading meaningful activities, I do not receive any remuneration," Tran said.
Music helps unite generations
Hien Tran said the video clips of the grandmother and grandchild practicing were quite quick, about 45 minutes to complete.
"Usually I would prepare my lessons, practice in advance and wait for her to come up and film with me. She also passed on her experiences in singing, teaching, performing on stage... If I had any questions in my studies, she would also guide me.
I think music is a bridge that connects generations together without any barriers. All music lovers are always devoted to their art world, and music is the thread that connects everyone, young or old," the female student confided.
Singer Le Hang said Tran has a great sense of responsibility, studying culture in parallel with her major.
"This year, I am in the 3rd year of intermediate vocal music and the 12th grade of culture at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music. In addition, I also participate in giving gifts from the money I save from performing.
"My grandchild doesn't sing much, so I guided him to create TikTok and Facebook pages to record clips to practice and improve his major. When the videos were well received, my grandchild and I were very happy," she said.
According to singer Le Hang, in the near future, the grandmother and her granddaughter will cover more songs that are fresher and cuter but still retain their historical value. Everyone's compliments are the motivation for the grandmother and granddaughter to continue nurturing their passion for music.
Good student, passionate about social activities
In grade 11, Hien Tran achieved good academic performance, excelling in vocal music with a total of 9.11 points.
Tran also participated in volunteer programs such as: Understanding and practicing children's rights and children's law; "Finding 2024" a support program for disadvantaged children of Lap Vo Student Association in Ho Chi Minh City; the topic "What career do you choose" career guidance for students of Chau Thanh 2 High School (Dong Thap); the program "Propaganda of sea and island sovereignty" of Nguyen Cong Tru High School (Go Vap, Ho Chi Minh City); the program Happy party for children...
