Mac Dynasty relic cluster in Duong Kinh receives Certificate of ranking as Special National Monument

Although it was a short-lived dynasty, it cannot be denied that the Mac dynasty left good marks on the country's history in the first half of the 16th century.

On April 19, at the Mac Dynasty Memorial Site, Kien Hung Commune, Kien Thuy District, Hai Phong City, the Ceremony to Receive the Certificate of Special National Monument Ranking for the Mac Dynasty Relic Cluster in Duong Kinh took place.

Mr. Luu Van Thuy, Chairman of Kien Thuy District People's Committee, said that this is one of the 5 relics ranked as Special National Monuments (17th batch, 2025) in Decision No. 152/QD-TTg; this is an important event, recognizing the great, typical values ​​in terms of history, culture and architecture of the relic complex; at the same time, it is also an opportunity for Kien Thuy district and Hai Phong city to develop and promote culture and tourism, making an important contribution to promoting socio -economic development and integration in the coming time.

According to historical records, the Mac Dynasty was founded by the founder Mac Dang Dung (1483-1541). He was from Co Trai village, Nghi Duong district, Kinh Mon prefecture, Hai Duong town (now Co Trai village, Ngu Doan commune, Kien Thuy district, Hai Phong city).

The Mac Dynasty existed from 1527 to 1592, with 5 kings. During its 65-year reign, the Mac Dynasty introduced many economic reform and development policies, making people's lives prosperous and society stable. Under the Mac Dynasty, many talented people emerged, the most typical of which were Doctor Nguyen Thi Due and Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem.

The ancient capital of Duong Kinh with many relics, heritages, national treasures, and cultural works still exists today.

Typical are the Mac Dynasty-related relics in Duong Kinh, including the Mac Family Temple, which was ranked as a national relic in 2002; the Mac Dynasty Kings Memorial Site, which was ranked as a city-level historical relic in 2016; Tra Phuong Pagoda, which was ranked as a national relic in 2007; Nhan Trai Pagoda, which was ranked as a city-level relic in 2003; and Hoa Lieu Temple-Pagoda, which was ranked as a national relic in 1993.

The cluster of 5 relics related to the Mac Dynasty in Duong Kinh is a synthesis of many cultural, historical and artistic elements.

National treasures are preserved here: Dinh Nam Dao, Mac Thai To statue, Queen Mother Vu Thi Ngoc Toan relief, along with unique steles and special national intangible cultural festivals, typically the unique Minh The Festival in Vietnam./.
