Looking back at 2023, despite many difficulties, with the determination and efforts of the Department of Industry and Trade, enterprises, production and business establishments, and trade and service activities have had many improvements, contributing to the economic development of the province.

In the province, there are currently many relatively large-scale business locations and commercial centers such as: Vincom Commercial Center, Co.opmart Thanh Ha Supermarket, Winmart Supermarket, Phan Rang Market, Thap Cham Market, Dien May Xanh Ninh Thuan, The Gioi Di Dong, Cho Lon Electronics Supermarket, a system of convenience stores: Bach Hoa Xanh, Winmart... basically serving the shopping needs of the people well. The system of wholesale and retail stores is widely developed, covering even rural areas. With the strong and correct development of business types, it has contributed to creating a synchronous commercial network, promoting the development of trading activities and continuing to grow steadily.

During the year, many programs to connect supply and demand, trade were organized, and promotional programs to stimulate consumption were actively implemented by commercial enterprises. According to the Department of Industry and Trade, among the province's economic development indicators, the trade and service sector has shown many positive signs. All groups of consumer goods and services have had higher growth rates than the same period last year. By the end of 2023, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached VND 38,014 billion, an increase of 15.8% over the same period in 2022; of which, total retail sales of goods reached VND 28,838.1 billion, an increase of 13.3%; service revenue reached VND 9,175.9 billion, an increase of 24.6%.

In addition to traditional commercial activities, e-commerce has also been gradually realized, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the province. Information technology infrastructure has been invested in; non-cash payment methods have been popularized, helping shopping centers, supermarkets, and stores keep up with the general trend of the whole society. In particular, the Department of Industry and Trade focuses on connecting the province's e-commerce platform with other e-commerce trading platforms, basically meeting the consumption and production needs in the area.

Maintain and operate the e-commerce trading floor sanphamninhthuan.vn; support establishments and enterprises applying e-commerce to participate in domestic and foreign e-commerce trading floors to export to markets of countries signing FTAs ​​and Halal markets such as: Alibaba, Amazon, Lazada, Tiki, Sendo, Shopee, Voso, Postmart,...; support for 92 participating units with more than 300 products, of which 123 OCOP products of 50 establishments and enterprises are present on the e-commerce floor. The products on the floor are all typical products of the province, products participating in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program and regional specialties, gradually integrating the province's e-commerce activities with domestic and international e-commerce.

To adapt to the general development trend of the market, Co.opmart Thanh Ha supermarket has innovated its management methods and sales methods towards modernization. Talking to us, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, Director of the Supermarket said: Currently, the supermarket has applied digital technology in goods management, customer care and business. Customers can use smartphones to trace the origin of all products, make cashless payments on banking applications, especially the Online Shopping Program via social networking sites Facebook, Zalo or Go application on mobile phones, helping customers shop anytime, anywhere and have products delivered to their homes. Thanks to promoting sales on digital platforms, the supermarket has expanded its customer base, revenue is always stable, basically meeting the needs of consumers with essential items such as: Vegetables, fruits, fresh meat, dried goods, groceries...

Thanks to the promotion of construction and development of synchronous commercial infrastructure, in recent times, the trade and service sector in the province has developed steadily, ensuring professionalism in methods, management, operation and especially civilization in service, meeting the shopping needs of the people. In particular, the Department of Industry and Trade focuses on coordinating with relevant departments, branches and localities to implement additional planning procedures, integrating into the planning to have a basis for making a list of projects calling for investment in the coming time. Renovating and repairing a food safety market model in An Hai commune (Ninh Phuoc). Coordinate in surveying and guiding the implementation of investment project procedures: GO! Ninh Thuan Trade Center; Quang Son market (Ninh Son), Phu Quy market (Ninh Phuoc).

Trade promotion activities have been effectively implemented, playing a good role as a bridge to help businesses research the market and find customers. At the same time, it encourages and supports businesses to build brands to enhance the competitiveness of their products. Since the beginning of the year, the Department of Industry and Trade has supported 26 units to participate in trade connections and conferences in provinces such as Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa; organized meetings and connections for 31 enterprises of the province with major distributors in Ho Chi Minh City; supported businesses and units to participate in trade connections in the Central - Central Highlands region, participate in the Weekend Market in An Giang...

Comrade Tran Quoc Sanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade shared: In the coming time, the unit will continue to advise the province, coordinate with relevant departments, branches and units to implement key solutions and tasks to promote the development of trade and service activities. In particular, continue to attract investment, encourage modern business types such as: Trade centers, convenience store chains, e-commerce, gradually complete the trade infrastructure in a civilized and modern direction. Promote trade promotion activities, pay attention to and seek opportunities for OCOP products to reach more widely in provinces and cities across the country. At the same time, support and remove obstacles and difficulties for local enterprises to operate, produce and do business effectively, and cooperate more diversely with external partners.
