Nottingham repeats feat after more than 3 decades.

For the first time since 1991, Nottingham will be at Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final. If they win the FA Cup, the City Ground team will also qualify for the Europa League. The opportunity for "The Tricky Trees" to end their 66-year title drought in this arena is quite large, when the big clubs in the Premier League have all been eliminated and only Man City remains.

Nottingham's journey to the FA Cup semi-finals was also quite difficult, when they had to go through 3 consecutive penalty shootouts, respectively against Exeter City (round 4), Ipswich Town (round 5) and now Brighton.

Coach Nuno Santo's team is having a great season with 3rd place in the Premier League, 6 points above 5th place. If they maintain their current form, Nottingham can dream of a ticket to the Champions League for the first time in their history.

The quarter-final match between Brighton and Nottingham was a dramatic affair. 26 chances were created, divided equally between the two sides, but no goals were scored. After a draw in both 90 minutes and extra time, the two clubs had to decide the winner by a penalty shootout.

While Nottingham only had one player miss, Neco Williams, the home team Brighton had Jack Hinshelwood and Diego Gomez fail to beat goalkeeper Matz Sels. In the end, Brighton lost 3-4 in the penalty shootout, thereby helplessly watching their opponents win tickets to the semi-finals. Nottingham's next opponent will be determined at the draw ceremony taking place right after the quarter-final match 4 between Bournemouth vs Man City tonight (March 30).
