Farmers from many provinces and cities are present in Ho Chi Minh City to sell their specialties and famous OCOP products at the Vietnam Outstanding Export Goods Fair. Many products have reached international buyers.


The Vietnam Export Fair is taking place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, attracting a large number of international buyers from China, Korea, Japan, the US, the UK, retail systems and Ho Chi Minh City residents.

One of the notable highlights of the fair is the specialty booths of provinces and cities such as Binh Duong, Binh Dinh, Dak Lak, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Lao Cai, Long An, Ninh Thuan, Phu Tho, Soc Trang, Tay Ninh, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long...

Farmer Nguyen Huu Cong, residing in Phu Long District, Soc Trang Province, brought a unique, sweet passion fruit variety to Ho Chi Minh City to introduce to consumers and supermarket chains. He said that sweet passion fruit is not yet popular on the market and can be eaten directly as a dessert. The retail price is 120,000 VND/kg.

Mr. Truong Tan Loc, a resident of Soc Trang province, enthusiastically introduced Lap Hung Pia cake. The golden Pia cake is cut into small, bite-sized pieces, rich in the fatty flavor of durian but not too sweet, winning the hearts of many customers.

According to Mr. Hung, his family's Lap Hung pia cake brand has existed for about 70 years and is famous in Soc Trang. The product has been recognized as an OCOP product by the locality. He is the third generation to continue the family business.

“Pia cake is a famous specialty of Soc Trang, my family has a tradition of making Pia cake. Therefore, after graduating from university, I decided to follow in my footsteps and nurture new ways to make my family's cake brand more and more known,” Mr. Hung shared.

Not only selling to consumers, many farmers also take advantage of the fair to introduce and promote OCOP products to retailers.

Major domestic supermarket chains, such as Saigon Co.op, Satra, MM Mega Market, Lotte Vietnam, AEON, WinCommerce, GS25, Genshai Mart, Central Retail, Farmers Market.... are also looking for suppliers at the fair.

Fruits are the products that many farmers and export businesses bring to the fair to introduce to international buyers. Right at the fair, visitors can access and find sources of durian, mango, star apple, coconut, etc. from major Vietnamese suppliers.

In addition to direct sales, local farmers have also started livestreaming to sell goods, agricultural products and OCOP products.

The fair attracted more than 700 booths displaying a variety of products in the fields of agricultural products; handicrafts; textiles, footwear; equipment, technology for processing, packaging, and preserving food. The fair of typical Vietnamese export products will take place until today, March 29.
