At CES 2023, smart glasses, wireless TV, metaverse, web 3.0 and sustainable technology will generate interest. Coming to CES 2024, other trends may gain the attention of tech enthusiasts.

Putting AI in Everything

As AI (artificial intelligence) continues to grow, it’s no surprise that it’s also a big trend at this year’s show. Despite concerns, AI has its own benefits, especially in the technology field of understanding user behavior.

It could be smart lights powered by AI, or security cameras that use AI to operate. All will be shown at CES 2024, although users should also be cautious because they may contain advertising tricks from manufacturers.

Brain reading technology

Sens.ai is a CES 2024 Innovation Award honoree brain training system. Using advanced light stimulation technology that can “read” neural feedback, it is designed to help users’ minds become sharper, calmer, and more relaxed.

That’s cool, but why do users have to wear it on their heads to enjoy the benefits of brain training? Of course, we’ll have to wait until the show to test Sens.ai before we can make a final judgment on the product.

Another interesting product in this category is GENIPEN, which allows users to write notes on a piece of paper and have that writing appear as digital text on the screen in real time. According to the CES 2024 website, it can also collect and analyze students’ cognitive and behavioral biometric data to enhance the remote learning experience.

Technology for the elderly

CES 2024 is expected to feature a booth dedicated to senior technology, where one vendor plans to give attendees a chance to experience the mobility limitations that make it difficult for older adults to move. Samsung will also be on hand to showcase some of its smart home technology that makes it easier for seniors to stay active.

CES 2024 is also a place to showcase assistive technologies for the elderly.

There's even a mobile phone designed specifically for users with dementia or Alzheimer's. There's also a holographic communication platform called "Proto" designed to combat social isolation.

AR/XR Glasses

After Meta and Ray-Ban made a splash with the well-received Ray-Ban Stories 2021 and Ray-Ban Meta Smart 2023 products, several other manufacturers are also jumping into the augmented reality (AR) and extended reality (XR) glasses game with products showcased at the upcoming CES.

Some are designed to enhance the display on mobile devices (phones or laptops) to provide a sense of immersion right in front of your eyes. Some are designed to overlay a virtual world onto the wearer’s real-world surroundings, transporting them into a sci-fi world. Brands like TCL and XREAL are planning to launch such glasses.

Foldable TV

Early last year, TCL showed off an intriguing concept, an 8K OLED TV that could fold in half. It’s possible the company will show off this bizarre prototype again at CES this year.

But TCL isn't the only manufacturer expected to introduce bendable panels, as C-SEED has also announced it will unveil luxury, high-end home theater-sized foldable TVs at CES 2024.
