Tech billionaires use Android instead of iPhone

Over the years, Android phones have won over some of the tech world’s most famous billionaires for different reasons. Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates, for example, have found the ecosystem to be the perfect blend of functionality, customization, and flexibility.

Bill Gates

When you think of billionaire Bill Gates, you probably think of Microsoft or Windows, but since Microsoft doesn’t have a smartphone product, it’s no surprise that Gates turned to a different platform. Instead of choosing an iPhone, the billionaire chose the Galaxy Z Fold – a foldable Android device that stands out for its innovation.

For someone immersed in the world of technology, it's understandable to love devices that bring new forms of productivity.

Mark Zuckerberg

As the head of one of the world's largest social media platforms, billionaire Mark Zuckerberg likely needs a device that lets him take notes quickly. He chose the Galaxy S23 Ultra because the included S Pen stylus offers the precision and versatility that can be crucial in everyday life, a feature that isn't available on any iPhone.

Jeff Bezos

Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos is notoriously secretive about the mobile brand he uses, and he has good reason to keep this aspect of his life secret. Some sources suggest he currently uses a Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy phone.

In fact, Bezos used an iPhone in 2020 that was unfortunately hacked via WhatsApp. This incident may have prompted Bezos to switch to Google's operating system, or he may have opted for a version that focuses on security and privacy and is customized for him.

While the specific brand he uses remains a secret, it's likely an Android-powered phone tailored to Bezos' needs of keeping his private life out of the public eye.

Elon Musk

While the Tesla and SpaceX CEO has been seen using both an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy, his choice may depend on his needs. As a tech industry leader, billionaire Elon Musk would likely appreciate a device that gives him access to a wide range of apps and tools, regardless of whether it’s an Android or iOS operating system.

Last year, there were rumors about the possibility of Tesla at some point launching its own phone, nicknamed the Tesla Pi, although such claims were unfounded and seemingly unlikely.
