The Center for Human Resources Demand Forecasting and Labor Market Information of Ho Chi Minh City (Falmi), under the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City, has just released a report on the labor market in the third quarter and forecasted human resource demand in the fourth quarter of 2023 in the city.
According to the above report, the survey results of 14,540 businesses in the third quarter of 2023 showed that this group has a need to recruit nearly 70,000 workers.
However, the recruitment needs of enterprises are mainly in the trade, service and industrial and construction sectors. In the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors, enterprises only need to recruit… 14 people, accounting for 0.02% of the total demand.
The industries with high demand for human resources in the third quarter are trade; personal services, security; asset management, real estate, etc.
Even within areas of high demand for human resources, there are large disparities between occupations.
There are occupations that need a lot of human resources such as: The commercial business group needs more than 23,500 workers; the personal service and security groups need more than 9,000 jobs...
However, there are also job groups that recruit very little, such as: Biotechnology group only needs 14 workers; Law - Legal group needs 21 people; Environmental resources - Water supply and drainage group needs 28 jobs...
Compared to the job search demand, the biotechnology occupation group is not much different, with only 49 people looking for this job position (compared to the recruitment demand of 14 jobs); the environmental resources - water supply and drainage occupation group also has only 90 people looking for jobs (compared to the recruitment demand of 28 people).
The biggest gap is in the legal profession group. This group has 673 job seekers but businesses only recruit 21 positions.
Among the occupations with high recruitment needs, the commercial business group faced the most difficulties. This group had a recruitment need of more than 23,500 workers, but in the quarter, only more than 7,000 workers sought jobs in this industry.
The personal service and security professions are even more difficult to find because businesses have registered to recruit more than 9,000 jobs, but in reality only 95 people have come to job centers to find these jobs.
