On the afternoon of March 25, TUV, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh chaired a working session with the Department of Education and Training (DET), Department of Finance, Department of Home Affairs and localities to resolve difficulties and problems of the education sector in the 2024-2025 school year.
According to the report, in the 2024-2025 school year, districts and cities will be allocated more than 260 teacher positions. In recent times, some localities have developed plans to recruit teachers.
However, after the central government issued a policy to temporarily suspend recruitment of civil servants to implement the project of streamlining the apparatus, localities have temporarily suspended recruitment.
Regarding this issue, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh emphasized that the process of restructuring and streamlining the apparatus must not affect teaching and learning and the rights of students. Therefore, departments and branches should focus on finding solutions and urgently recruiting teachers to ensure educational activities.
The Provincial People's Committee leader requested that for districts that have completed round 1, the Department of Home Affairs shall preside over and advise the Provincial People's Committee to request the Provincial Party Committee's approval to continue the selection/exam round 2.
For districts and cities that have not yet conducted recruitment/exams, the Department of Home Affairs will advise the Provincial People's Committee to reallocate the payroll in the direction of assigning a part to the Department of Education and Training, and a part to the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns (after dissolving the district-level administrative apparatus).
Regarding the policy of establishing a secondary school class in Quang Hoa commune, Dak Glong district, comrade Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh directed the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Home Affairs to urgently develop a project on the model of activities, organization, and teachers with the spirit of "bringing school to students in difficult areas" and creating maximum conditions for students to go to school.
Currently, the Education sector of Dak Nong province is facing many difficulties, affecting teaching activities and training quality of the locality. Notably, the whole province lacks 1,545 teachers and more than 500 classrooms.
In particular, since Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training took effect, it has affected the activities of tutoring and reviewing for students. The reason is that schools cannot arrange funds to pay and support teachers to teach, review and train students. Meanwhile, according to current regulations, educational institutions are not allowed to mobilize funding to pay teaching fees and expenses for teachers in the classroom.
Regarding this issue, the leader of the Department of Education and Training proposed that, in order to ensure that grade 12 students can take the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, the Provincial People's Committee directs the Department of Finance and relevant agencies to consider and arrange funding to support teachers to directly review for students.
