Strictly handle the case of a group and kindergarten staff pouring food into a child's mouth in Ben Tre

Accordingly, on April 16, the Departmentof Education and Training of Ba Tri district discovered a clip circulating on social networks, showing a staff member of a group facility or preschool class not being calm, acting impatiently and not in control when feeding children.

The incident was determined to have occurred at the Thu Suong kindergarten group facility (An Binh quarter, Tiem Tom town, Ba Tri district). After receiving the information, the Ben Tre Department of Education and Training directed the Ba Tri District Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the People's Committee of Tiem Tom town (Ba Tri district) to inspect and handle the incident.

On April 17, the People's Committee of Tiem Tom town issued a Decision to establish an inspection team to inspect the conditions for implementing the Professional Regulations at Thu Suong kindergarten group and class (An Binh quarter, Tiem Tom town).

Upon inspection, the owner of the facility admitted that the image in the clip was of a cooking staff at Thu Suong kindergarten group. The incident occurred around the beginning of April 2025 and on April 16, 2025, the clip was posted on social media.

According to the report, the owner of the facility admitted that the reason for the incident was because the children had poor appetite, so the staff had forced food onto about 3 children aged 1 to 2 years old. After the incident, the owner of the facility and the staff went directly to the families of the 3 children to apologize for their actions.

Currently, Thu Suong preschool group and class has a total of 54 children. Through the inspection results, the inspection team found that Thu Suong preschool group and class had signs of violating professional regulations and had not ensured the physical and mental safety of children in the activities of nurturing, caring for and educating children according to regulations.

Pursuant to regulations on investment and operation in the field of education, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tiem Tom town issued Decision 89/QD-UBND dated April 17, 2025 on temporarily suspending the operation of Thu Suong preschool group and class.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ben Tre province, regarding the arrangement of children at the group facility, Thu Suong kindergarten class when suspending activities will discuss and agree with the families to transfer the children to study at schools, groups, classes in Tiem Tom town and kindergartens in neighboring communes. In which, in the spirit of creating all conditions for children to be nurtured, cared for and educated in the best way and parents feel secure when sending their children.
