Possibilities for Vietnam team to enter the next round

The Chinese national team drew their second consecutive match at the 2023 Asian Cup, increasing Vietnam's chances of advancing.

In the second round of the 2023 Asian Cup group stage, China drew 0-0 against Lebanon. This was China's second consecutive draw in this year's tournament. Meanwhile, Qatar won 1-0 against Tajikistan.

After two matches, Qatar officially won the ticket to continue with the top position in the group. Meanwhile, the Chinese team ranked second with 2 points. The Tajikistan and Lebanon teams ranked second with 1 point each.

In the final round of the group stage, China will face Qatar. In case coach Jankovic's team loses and the match between Tajikistan and Lebanon ends with any score, the third-place team in Group A will only have 2 points.

If the match ends in a draw, in theory, Vietnam still has a chance to advance. However, the task of coach Troussier's team now becomes more difficult because they have to defeat Iraq in the final match.

Therefore, winning against Indonesia will be the most beneficial option for the Vietnamese team.
