After analyzing 95,352 traveler reviews of the top 200 popular destinations, the popular luggage storage platform released the list. Eight of the top 10 destinations are in Europe.
Below is a list of the 5 most disappointing tourist destinations in the world published by Radical Storage last March.
Inspired by the success of Disneyland in the US, Alton Towers was transformed into an amusement park in the 1980s. Located in Staffordshire, the UK's largest amusement park received 49.4% negative reviews from visitors for their "bad" experiences.
According to Radical Storage, the majority of visitors complained that the experience they received was not worth the price of admission (18% of all reviews). The rides were rated as outdated, and the customer service and staff attitudes were low.
2. Széchenyi Thermal Pool (Budapest, Hungary)
Despite being known as the largest thermal spa in Europe, more than a third of visitors (37.2%) who have been here believe that the quality of services and facilities at Széchenyi are limited.
3. Siam Park (Tenerife, Spain)
Located on the island of Tenerife, Siam Park is the largest water park in Europe. However, many visitors have rated it as the "worst water park in the world" due to the grumpy, grumpy staff and frequent problems with the rides.
Some guests have even reported being insulted by staff about their weight or appearance. According to Radical Storage, about 31.2% of guest reviews are about negative experiences.
4. Time Out Market Lisboa (Lisbon, Portugal)
Located in the Cais do Sodré area, Time Out Market Lisboa has over 40 stalls selling typical Portuguese dishes. However, many visitors say that the flavors of the dishes here are somewhat "different" compared to other traditional restaurants in Portugal.
In addition, the high prices and the constant crowds are also factors that make the famous food market "lose points" in the eyes of international tourists. More than a quarter of reviewers (28.4%) said they had to leave in disappointment or frustration.
5. Fontana di Trevi (Rome, Italy)
The fountain dubbed "the most famous in the world" is in 5th place. Although this is always at the top of the list of places tourists must visit when coming to Rome, many opinions say that the experience here is "boring", not to mention the constant lurking of thieves.
According to Radical Storage's analysis, 1 in 4 visitors shared a negative experience at the famous fountain (24.6%).
