- According to you, what factors and opportunities does Bai Tu Long Bay have to develop tourism?

+ Bai Tu Long Bay is famous for its system of rocky islands, majestic caves, and beautiful and pristine beaches. Bai Tu Long National Park is located in the Bai Tu Long Bay complex with a total area of ​​15,783 hectares; of which 6,125 hectares are the above-ground islands and 9,658 hectares are sea surface. In 2017, Bai Tu Long National Park was recognized by the ASEAN Biodiversity Center as an ASEAN Heritage Park thanks to meeting 6 criteria: Ecological integrity; representativeness; naturalness; high conservation; conservation management plan; legality.

Bai Tu Long Bay has a very favorable location, about 100km from Mong Cai International Border Gate and adjacent to the World Natural Wonder of Ha Long Bay. Along with that is a convenient transportation system by road, sea and air. The accommodation system with large resort complexes has been formed, such as: Wyndham Sonasea Van Don, Angsana Quan Lan; coming soon is a complex of more than 1,000 rooms of Ao Tien tourist area.

In particular, the landscape value of Bai Tu Long Bay is suitable for year-round tourism development with many attractive types of tourism, such as: sightseeing, swimming, boating, parasailing, recreational fishing, types of eco-tourism...

- Could you tell us what are the differences between Bai Tu Long Bay and Ha Long Bay and what tourist itineraries will be implemented within the boundaries of Bai Tu Long National Park?

+ Bai Tu Long Bay is different from Ha Long Bay because it has a system of inhabited islands, where visitors can experience the lives of the people. Some islands here have beautiful beaches, long white sand, creating privacy for visitors, as well as limiting crowds. Under the sea in this area, many coral reefs develop, with the ability to build nature reserves, ecological parks to serve tourism and resort development.

Within the boundaries of Bai Tu Long National Park, 3 sightseeing and tourism itineraries will be implemented, including BTL4, BTL5 and BTL6, with prominent destinations such as: Tra Ngo Lon Island, Thien Nga Islet, Cai De area, Cai Lim beach and Mang Ha overnight anchorage. Activities such as kayaking, exploring mangrove forests and experiencing local cuisine will also be integrated to increase the attractiveness of the itineraries.

- What do you think needs to be done to make these sightseeing and tourism itineraries more and more diverse and attractive?

+ In my opinion, it is necessary to propose to add and recognize 2 tourist attractions, namely the Museum of Biodiversity of Bai Tu Long National Park and the Tram Heritage Forest, to the 2 itineraries BTL4 and BTL5 announced under Decision No. 2119/QD-UBND (dated July 19, 2024) of the Provincial People's Committee. At the same time, strengthen promotion and attract tourists to visit Bai Tu Long National Park; focus on completing and implementing well the plan to welcome visitors, prepare reception points, and infrastructure to serve tourists within the boundaries of Bai Tu Long National Park.

Bai Tu Long National Park Management Board coordinates with relevant departments, sectors, localities and units to focus on environmental protection, use of nature-friendly means of transport and raise awareness of resource protection for tourists and people.

Together with departments, branches and enterprises, develop tourism products onshore and the system of Bai Tu Long Bay island routes, including caves, land islands, cultural experience activities, fishing and aquaculture...; the unit determines the direction to develop typical product lines associated with natural discovery and experience, environmental protection; position Van Don, Bai Tu Long Bay as a destination for tourists who love exploring nature, adventure sports, experiencing pristine ecology and cultural tourism; connect sightseeing routes, tourism in Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay... The unit also researches to reserve separate areas to ensure landscape, security and order to serve high-end tourists with high spending levels.
